About the adventure

This game is for anyone to join, new players or old hands! It is the game of the starter set for 5th edition DnD, published by the creators of the game Wizards of the Coast. It is set in Faerun on the sword coast. Legend tells tales of an ancient alliance, more than 500 years past, formed between dwarves and Gnomes, known as the Phandelvers Pact! The two races agreed to share a rich mine, not only with an abundance of minerals but also containing a great magical power. This mine became known as Wave Echo Cave. A short time after a clutch of human wizards, who were able to harness the raw magical power, joined the pact. They were able to bind this energy, this power, into a mighty Forge, crafted by the joint efforts of the Gnomes and dawves. This creation was named the Spell Forge! And could produce masterful works of magic and engineering. Times were good, nearby town were prospering, most amoung them was Phandalin. Home to many of the members of the pact. But as ever in the great legends of old, disaster reared its ugly head in the form of an orkish warband! It made its way through the North sweeping aside all obstacles, leaving nothing but destruction and pain in it wake. The force consisting of savagely brutal orcs, cunning goblins and a detachment of evilly minded humanoids with powerful magics, inevitably found their way to the Wave Echo Cave Intent on taking the magical creations and any other wealth they could find. Humans fought alongside their gnomish and dwarves allies, defending their forge, but the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cave, leaving very few alive, Trapped by cave-ins as a result of magical tremors from the battle and with this the location of the cave was lost! Over the last few centuries various researchers and treasure hunters have tried to seek out the cave and what, if anything, is left of the spell forge. All however have failed in their quest, leaving many to wonder if it ever existed in the first place. Fast forward to current times  the once prospering town of Phandalin has been re built in to a rough and tumble, frontier mining town, but not with out its troubles. Recently a band of thugs has moved in and are throwing their weight about! The are calling themselves the red brands.
