About the adventure

April 12th, 1926, 8:15pm. The Beacon Island lighthouse off the shore of Folly Point, Massachusetts, ceased to cast its light over the region’s dangerous rocky waters about 15 minutes ago. As a result, the SS Essex County, a mixed passenger and cargo vessel on which you are all traveling to Rockport, has foundered on the rocks and incurred considerable damage to its hull. The ship is sinking, and the crew hurries you toward one of the many small rowboats acting as the ship’s lifeboats. As they load you in, they tell you your best bet is to aim for Beacon Island—they doubt you’ll make the mainland as a storm is brewing. You should have just enough time to reach the island before it hits. Then, without another word, they shove you off into the dark, churning waters. All you have to guide you is the small light shining at the base of the lighthouse’s towering silhouette.

How to prepare

If you have ever played Call of Cthulhu you will know this game is an Investigation heavy game where you can't fight your way out of everything or almost out of anything. Looking for clues and paying attention is key to this game and coming in with a D&D hack and slash mindset will not go well in the players favor. However there could be combat and if you and the party believe it is the only way to deal with the situation there will be nobody to stop you. (Combat is in the game it's just mostly put at a distance as characters can instantly die pretty easy)

What I provide

I will provide the Roll20 module and the discord server that will be dedicated for running my games.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a steady flow of investigating and thinking outside of the box involved in this game. Call of Cthulhu is a horror based game that leans more into eldritch abominations, cult activities, murder, and in some cases instant character death.
