    About the adventure

A mysterious letter with a link to your past. A promise of redemption or revelation. The mists parting to reveal a brooding abandoned mansion. Welcome to Ravenloft! This will be a horror-themed D&D 5th edition adventure set in the Ravenloft setting. It will focus on the introductory adventure - "The House of Lament" - designed to run from 1st to 3rd or 4th level, with a possibility of a longer campaign depending on the interest of the players. This will be a roleplay and investigation heavy game, suitable to beginners and veterans alike, but best for players who enjoy uncovering mysteries, making difficult moral choices, and not afraid to roleplay fear, horror and madness. We will be using Discord for voice and text chat (cameras are optional but encouraged!), Roll20 for character sheets, maps, dice rolls, and compendium, and Google Documents for various campaign-related handouts. You may access the Player Campaign Guide here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qFHOQT00Ku_LKsgoQutvskztAR7ifBYYjDYFyB6mZSI/edit?usp=sharing I will send you an invite to Roll20 and the Discord server when you join the game. We will have a session zero to help everyone get acquainted, go over the rules, some do's and don'ts, expectations for the game, connections between characters, and anything else that comes up. This game will use several safety tools such as the X Card, lines and veils, and "Pause for a minute" to ensure a safe and comfortable playing experience for everyone, but it will feature content such as: murder, suicide, mental illness, child endangerment, and torture. It does not feature sexual assault, racism, or homophobia.
