How to prepare

You need a microphone for audio. Video is not necessary. You also need to have Chrome installed on your computer. Other browsers may not work well with Foundry. You might want to have a pdf or physical copy of the rulebook but that is not essential.

What I provide

The game will be run on Foundry VTT - an excellent virtual environment for playing Call of Cthulhu, and using Discord for audio. All maps, handouts, arts, tokens and character creation materials will be made available to you and you can of course download any character-related materials for your own collection.

Gameplay details

Call of Cthulhu is a horror game. Or rather your investigators are meant to find it horrifying, not you. There we want to ensure this is a fun game and provide a safe gaming environment. To mitigate this we will be using the Luxton Technique where we have an open discussion between everyone at the table about potential trauma triggers. This is with the understanding that it’s not possible to identify every single possible trigger or trauma, and that there is no social pressure to go into details or individual justifications for a trigger.

How will character creation work

We will use pregens available at the start of the session. The characters are Harvey Walters, a surprisingly familiar Private Investigator, Luis Russo, a troubled student of engineering at Arkham Unversity Mildred Hathaway, occult news reporter Professor Avebury, tortured linguistics professor at Arkham University
