Step into the armor of the knights of Arthurian legend. You and your companions are young knights, each building your own glory, renown, fortune, and legacy alongside one of the most storied figures of all time: King Arthur. The events of your life may intertwine with those of the legendary king, but don't question the core truth of this adventure: The story is yours. Using the beautiful and nuanced King Arthur Pendragon game system, this is your opportunity to engage in fraught battles, build up entire estates, and roleplay a lifetime of events spanning decades that will forge a legacy to be remembered through the ages.

How to prepare

For gameplay, you'll need a webcam and mic (your default phone or computer cam and mic are fine) as well as Discord, which will host our voice/video/text. I understand that some people prefer to not to use video, so if that's you, I'm totally fine with that. We'll be using theater of the mind for encounters, although I may pass along maps for reference in some cases. Please provide your own method for rolling dice.

What I provide

If you don't have access to the rules for King Arthur Pendragon, don't fret! I'll bring a full working knowledge of the rules as well as a rulebook to help guide us through any complicated dice rolls. Also, while we'll be using theater of the mind for any combat encounters, there may be instances in which maps will be useful. I will of course provide those when necessary.

Gameplay details

King Arthur Pendragon is a game that spans decades, with the story covering not only the full Arthurian legend but the near entirety of the Middle Ages. As a knight of the time, it is your goal to attain glory alongside the events of the world. The more glory you attain, the greater your renown, wealth, and development grows. Mechanically, this pursuit of glory is heavy on roleplay, asking players to make decisions and engage in quests based on an intricately woven set of Traits and Passions that define who you are as a knight. That said, there is plenty of battle in store. You are a knight, after all. This will frequently put you in deadly situations. But should your knight perish - as they are likely to do either by old age or heroic battle - their family (be it blood or found) that they create along your journey will be there to pick up their mantle, allowing you to continue your story as a player alongside the entirety of the life of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. To help ensure that every player is comfortable and having a great time through the battle, glory, romance, and intrigue of Pendragon, I'll be setting lines and veils prior to the start of gameplay with each player to ensure maximum comfort. These lines and veils will inform gameplay and ensure the ability to "fade to black" whenever needed. During the session, we'll be employing X, N, and O signals in chat as needed. We'll also be ending each session with a brief Highlight Reel and Wrap Session to discuss the game session and ensure fun and engaging future sessions. I also should note that while the Middle Ages even more so than today were fraught with prejudice, I will be working to create a world more equitable than the one in which we live. While I will be honoring and drawing from the traditions and beliefs of the time, instances of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. will be significantly downplayed in my games. For your part, I ask that players not come in with characters rooted in bigotry of any kind. Moreover, while knights of Arthurian legend were presented near exclusively as cis, heterosexual men, I would encourage players to embrace whatever sexuality or gender they chose in creating their characters. They will certainly not be looked down upon or underestimated in any way. I know that's taking a serious note, but I think it's important to ensure that we all have a great time!

How will character creation work

Our first session will be session zero in which players will create characters and character sheets, establish backstories, and form character relationships with each of the players.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
