About the adventure

The Generation Ship Promise is a homebrew one-shot about the crew of the Promise, a generation ship that has been flying through space for three hundred years in search of a new home. The ship has entered the orbit of a rocky planet that may have the makings of a new Earth. A small hab has been established on the surface, and the players comprise a crew that has been sent to investigate the disappearance of a scientist.

How to prepare

We can use text, voice, or video, whatever players prefer. If you want to create your character in advance, that's encouraged! Choose one thing your character is great at, two things they're good at, one thing they're bad at, and a power or shtick that defines who they are. They're 'thing' if you will.

What I provide

We will be using a dice bot on Discord for dice. I'll also provide a Google sheet document that tracks PCs' traits and powers. The mechanic is simple. When faced with a challenge, roll 2d6. What your character is great at adds +2 to the result. What your character is good at adds +1, and what you're bad at gives you a -1. Your power or shtick isn't always an instant success, but it does let you bypass easy challenges with style.

Gameplay details

Lines and Veils will be tracked on the Discord server. X, N, & O's will be verbally given. We will try to wrap a half-hour before the end of game so we can talk about what happened if people want/need to.

How will character creation work

We'll take half an hour at the beginning of the game to sort out PCs and their stats. If you come with your character prepared, this will go quickly and we can get right into gaming, but the process doesn't take that long.
