About the adventure

Shiuca (shy-oo-ka) is a dangerous, mostly wild land fraught with danger, and although a few groups have banded together to form budding harbors, towns, and villages, much of this world remains unsettled. To make matters worse, it would seem that these ever-present dangers have not been equitably dispersed amongst the lands, and although beasts reside in both the East and the West, more powerful creatures have yet to be driven out of the East continent, and who knows what lurks in the murky depths of the seas, or the frigid skies of the untamed mountains... In the West continent, the Frammish Empire and the Divine Kingdom of Casland have forged a powerful alliance, standing strong and united to expel the remaining monstrosities that inhabit their lands. Over time, a few guilds have naturally formed with the intent to recruit, train, and hire skilled adventurers up to the task of securing their homeland. Of these guilds, the most notable is the Goldenbrand Guild, famous for having more than a few powerful members in their chain of command as well as being the main driving force fostering goodwill between the two nations of the West continent. Over time, it became evident that this guild was the main reason both kingdoms forged their alliance. However, across the treacherous Hinlet Sea to the East, the nations of Caltonia, Redcliffe, and Albriland have yet to settle their differences, and devastating conflict seems to be just on the horizon, especially considering a hastily written letter from the King of Caltonia to the West... The King's advisors warn of weakening boarders and skirmishes between nations are slowly bleeding his military of its strength. The losses have become significant enough that the the King felt it necessary to centralize his men near the capitol to defend his people in case of an attack from an opposing nation. But this meant less protection beyond the walls... Bandits have noticed a lessening military presence outside of the main city and the roads in and out of his nation are becoming even more dangerous. Trade among neighbors is becoming unreliable, merchants are disappearing on the roads when not accompanied by mercenaries, and, simply put, he and his people are running out of time and have become desperate. All guild masters in the region have been made aware of King Ceer's plea and have begun searching for a group of adventurers who are up to the task. You must prove yourself worthy, fight for what's right (or for a mountain of gold), and become the stuff of legends! ------------------- Congrats on making it this far, adventurer. The road ahead is twisted and dangerous, but on it, you will find the answers you're looking for. This game will be roleplay heavy, with combat encounters every other session on average. I will explain the campaign layout during session 0, but feel free to message me with specific questions!

Additional Details

How to prepare

Our game will be played on Roll20. We will communicate primary through a Discord server that I have set up and we will be using virtual player sheets from DNDBeyond. Face cams are highly requested. I will have mine on (as I have props and will do physical acting for characters) and find that games where the party is on cam helps everyone to be more aware of who is speaking and helps engage the party more thoroughly. I request that players have Roll20 and DNDBeyond open on Google Chrome so that they may take advantage of the Beyond20 Chrome plugin that makes for a more seamless DND experience.

What I provide

I will bring the adventure, voices, content sharing from DNDBeyond, including a myriad of extra races, subclasses, spells, magic items and more from official sourcebooks, Dynamically Light maps for realism, and everything necessary for you to come to the "table" ready to play!

Gameplay details

Expect a short, but worthwhile session 0. We will discuss elements of safety and respect, set expectations, discuss character ideas, roll for stats, and work to be ready for the journey that lies ahead.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be done during session 0 on DNDBeyond so I can verify rolls done to generate stats. This way, the party (myself included) can get familiar with the character you will be playing and with you as a player! If you need help with DNDBeyond, Roll20, or anything else for this campaign, I am happy to take some extra time to make sure you are comfortable with everything needed to play in this game! A few things to note: 1. Due to the background of this game, Kobolds and Dragonborn will not be playable races as well as Aarakocra, Shadar-kai, and Yuan-Ti. 2. Artificer is the only disallowed class for this game, everything else is fair game!

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Intermediate
