About the adventure

The Gilded River Syndicate has hired the Whispering Cutlass Mercenary Company to retrieve a lost caravan meant for the City-State of Cebet. Cebet is an isolated city that in recorded history, has never opened their doors to outsiders and never had someone leave their walls. They trade exclusively in rare magical items, and are known to be fickle when a shipment does not arrive, having once closed off trade for 5 years because a shipment was a week delayed. Now the merchant companies know better and plan for several weeks of buffer time. This latest shipment though only has a few days left to be delivered. The caravan was lost in the mountain pass of the snowy city of Kashant. The Caravan left two weeks ago but never arrived on the other side. The Merchants have declined to state what is in the caravan, but that they are in ornate red metal chests, only the Cebetins can open. You and your other mercenaries need to track down the lost caravan and make sure it finds its way to Cebet. About the Gilded River Syndicate: From the rare items of The Old Age, exotic animals, alchemical compounds, and the secrets of Alune. The Brokers of the Gilded River Syndicate are known far and wide to be merchants of prestige. They have been accused of running the largest black and grey market in all of A’lune. This is an Embrel Adventure. Embrel is a living world, where the actions in each game affect the other groups and twitch stream that are also contained within it. This one-shot was commissioned by the faction game, The Guilds of Sunward which rule and control one of the many provinces within Embrel.

How to prepare

Take a look at the glossary of terms in the discord after you are approved. We will use Roll20 for our rolls. You will need a Free Zoom account.

Gameplay details

This adventure will be played via Theater of the Mind. We will use X cards typed privately in chat. Violence/Standard D&D Gore/Blackmail/ and most things from a Heist movie will be present. I have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, sexual harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other prejudicial behavior. Those who can't abide by these standards will be asked to leave with no refund.

How will character creation work

If you already have a Whispering Cutlass character, you may bring them at their level. If not, please make a 1st level character and have it approved in the Total Party Chill Discord (once you are approved to join the game, you will get a link to join and submit your character. No Bards, Wizards, Sorcerers, Druids, Artificers, Warlocks, unless you roll a 95 or higher on a d100 in #whispering-cutlass and tag the Game Master. Starting Equipment only. PHB/Xanathars/Tasha's okay. No Goblins or Centaurs. Standard Array for ability scores. No Feats until level 4.
