    About the adventure

We begin fifty years after a cataclysmic event called the Mage Wars. Magic of unparalleled strength clashed with the powers of the gods themselves; the results of which destroyed cities, leveled trees, and broke apart mountains. In the wake of these battle sites the energy of magic reverberates still, causing unpredictable results in which magic, nature, and time behave in strange ways. In the end nobody won the Mage Wars. The gods suffered some losses but could not ultimately be overthrown; and in the aftermath they left, abandoning the world. In the following years their divinity lingered but faded and the mortals found new beings to worship; strange things that emerged from shadows in absence of the gods. Now the world struggles to put itself back together. The game is sandbox style game, so you are free to explore the world as you see fit. I'm seeking players who are down to role-play; whether brand-new to the game or old. You have to be willing to share the spotlight with the other players. This is an adult setting, but that does not include sexual roleplay (ie, your character might engage in sexual activities, but we're not playing through it). Class Options - anything in the core 5e books Race Options - Human, Elf, Half-elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Half-orc, Tabaxi, Minotaur, Firbolg, Goblin. (if there's something else not on my list you want to play, just run it past me. (Humans are a bit underpowered IMO so I do offer a feat at start and every five levels if you are playing a human).

    Additional Details

    How to prepare

A microphone is needed as well as access roll20 and discord. Tablet, computer, phone; whatever works as long as you can navigate roll20 with it and have discord running your audio. Dice can be rolled through those apps, but you are welcome to roll your own physical die if you prefer... As long as you're not rolling a suspicious amount of 20s.

    What I provide

The game, the maps, the NPCs. All digitally.

    Gameplay details

Adult themes and topics are entirely possible. This adventure is not strictly railroaded and as such would take the route that the players direct. With that in mind, themes of rape are absolutely not welcome. Sexual encounters will not be roleplayed, though if this is something that a character engages in it would be treated as 'fade to black.' PC on PC romance is frowned upon unless it is well established in advance by both players that they would be open to it. Also, not looking for purely evil characters. If that is the style you wish to play with this is not the table for you. Genuinely looking for people who are interested in having fun and creating a story in harmony with the other players. Any racism and prejudice that may come up is strictly fantasy-racism (like a dwarf might hold prejudice against elves, or certain communities might be anti-orc).

    How will character creation work

We will start at level 2. Characters don't need to be finished before Session Zero; but players should at least have some idea of what they want... we can finish up character creation at the end of Session 0. Obviously your character should be complete before session 1. How are we making characters? Ability Scores: Take 75 points and distribute them among the ability scores. This is not a point buy, just point distribution. No ability score can exceed 18 prior to racial bonuses. 75 divided by six is 12.5, so you'll have a 12.5 average among your six ability scores. Reach out if you have any questions. Back Story: This does not need to be too in depth, in fact I ask that you paint with broad strokes. We may delve into parts of your backstory in-game, but ultimately your backstory should serve as a guideline to help you form your character's personality and decision making process. Make up city/town names and NPCs. If we need to change a detail or two to make sure it fits into the setting we'll cover that once I have a chance to look it over.
