The Crown and the Pilgrims

About the adventure

Mercenaries take the work offered, especially when clients pay in advance. The Crown and the Pilgrim is an entirely unique game built partially around the players, set on a single continent defined by its circular shape and a ring of tall mountains that separates the inner and outer lands. Gods are known to occasionally walk the earth, and many choose to worship them over the pantheons above. The party has been hired to join a caravan of pilgrims for a year as the circle the entire continent. Course, the stakes are much higher than they appear, and our party will find themselves in the center of history... whether they like it or not.

How to prepare

The game will be on Foundry VTT, which requires only a computer with a keyboard and either chrome or firefox, no downloads or purchases. Communication outside the game, voice , and (optionally) video will be done over discord. I expect players to have at least a general idea of how DnD works, and to know their character's abilities with some familiarity. If you have a portrait/picture you would like to use, that would be good to have as well.

What I provide

I will provide maps, music, and the actual Foundry program. I will also provide a discord channel/forum for out of game communication and discussion.

Gameplay details

I believe very strongly it the three tenants of combat, role play, and exploration, and while all three will be present, I do tend to put more time into combat. This game will feature death, gore, swearing, and other adult themes. While I do not anticipate any seriously objectionable topics, I will ask all players individually about any "hard stop" topics. I have mine too.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at level 3, and while they will be created in a session zero, it would be good to have a mechanical outline when you arrive. All printed DnD material is accepted, point buy or standard array stats.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
