About the adventure

For centuries, Aelmor Monastery near the port town of Sestone was a safe haven for scholars, monks, and pilgrims seeking enlightenment, its renowned library home to an enormous collection of ancient manuscripts, tomes, and peculiar writings. When villagers start disappearing and turn up horribly mutated days later, fear takes a grip of Sestone. What sinister forces are at work? And to what end? Welcome to The Claws of Madness, a two session game that will take your level one character to level two or three, depending on your choices and how you choose to play the game. This adventure is great for new and experienced players - It's full of nice dungeon-crawling adventure, good roleplaying opportunities, extraordinary villains to defeat, magic items to find and an immersive, exciting storyline.

How to prepare

Players will need a mic to communicate. Webcam is optional. You will not have to read the rules in advance, but if you want to, that's great! Players will have to download the free version of Fantasy Grounds Unity. It is completely free to use, since the GM has the licensed version. Fantasy Grounds has virtual dice, character sheets and everything you need to play the game, including the required books. We will be using Discord to communicate.

What I provide

GM has all the books, maps, pictures and the program needed to play the game.

Gameplay details

This game contains possible kidnapping, violence and foul language. We will be using the TTRPG Safety Toolkit, and if a player is uncomfortable at any time or for any reason, the game will be stopped and the content will be skipped etc. The GM will run a session 0 as a group (when possible) or talk to players individually before the game. They will be given the TTRPG Toolkit as well. You can expect a fairly fast-paced game. It will be as rules-light as possible, and the goal is always to have fun.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at level one. They will be level 2 by the end of the adventure, and possibly level 3. Players will make their characters on Fantasy Grounds, preferably as a group, but individually if needed before the first session starts. If a player doesn't want to make a character for whatever reason, the GM will provide a wide variety of pre-generated characters for the player to choose from.
