About the adventure

"Our story takes place on the continent of Maelview, in the world of Baantorhas. The year is 470 DB and the continent has finally found peace after years of war ravaging it. Within the small town of Borndan, a newsletter had been posted stating that the King, Ginthrof, has passed away, leaving the throne empty as his two sons begin to fight amongst each other as rightful heirs. What little peace that was there is now seeming on the brink of breaking once more." The Anthology of Maelview is a homebrew game that I've written over the past 3-4 years as one of my very first games as a Dungeon Master, being one of my longest running game series that I've ran. It's a game that revolves around you as the player and your character, making a name for yourself and shaping the story with the choices that you make along the way. It is a rather difficult game as I've scaled up the enemies to give players more of a challenge in fights, along with homebrew rulings that provide a more realistic approach to the game.

How to prepare

Optimally you should : Have a working mic, install Fantasy Grounds and have an account ready, have a DnDBeyond account and a general knowledge about basic D&D rules. If you don't already have a character sheet, we can go ahead and make one together, and since DnDBeyond has dice for you to use on your character sheet, you won't need any dice at all.

What I provide

All necessary items such as dice, character sheets, and maps will be provided either on DnDBeyond or in game. Unfortunately I don't have anything to give you other than a great time.

Gameplay details

The game is heavily centered around roleplaying/combat with a mixture of 60/40 Where you'll stay in character as much as possible except for when you'll be explaining certain actions to others/asking questions of me. The game is designed to challenge the thought process of you and your character both in and out of combat, making you rethink if you want to take a fight or not. As for combat, there's almost always a way around combat. In combat, you'll have to rely on strategy to win you the battle as I've made the combat encounters challenging but not impossible. There will be quite a bit of exploring and questing as well and puzzles and riddles in between. No experience is necessary as this is a homebrew game that uses some basic rulings of D&D 5e with some homebrew rules, although having experience is always a plus. All in all, this is a game that'll challenge your combat strategies as well as provide ample opportunity for roleplaying.

How will character creation work

For Character Creation, I'll take the time to help you and walk through the process of creating your character on DnDBeyond at least a couple days before the session, anywhere from 2-3 days before if you're experienced with D&D or a week in advance if you're completely new to D&D. The level your characters will be at will match the rest of the players I have currently at the time.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
