About the adventure

The world is settling into a new age. An age of discovery, adventure and trade... Not that those were missing before, but now they're on the High Seas! This campaign aims to capture the feeling of adventure typical of pirate books and movies. It's not a pirate campaign per se- it's a sandbox after all. You can make your Fortune in a variety of ways. With the right amount of skill, cunning, and luck, you can build your Fame and become a legend of the Seas. But no legend starts from the top. And right now, you're on a ship heading towards the New World, with a few coins and no fame to your name. And it looks like a storm is heading your way...

How to prepare

You need at the very least a Discord account, as that is what we'll be using to talk. Also hardware that can let you talk to us, so a smartphone or a PC with a mic. I'd also strongly advise having Wi-Fi connection or an unlimited data plan, as these games can potentially consume quite the bandwith. With this, you're set to play, everything else helps but it's not strictly required Ideally you'd want: >A Discord Account >A Roll20 Account >A PC (or Mac, or Laptop) that can run both >Headphones >A Webcam (absolutely not required to use it if you don't feel like showing your face) >A Microphone (many headphones and webcams come with one) >Stable Internet Connection with unlimited data (WiFi or some nice mobile plan)

What I provide

I have a Roll20 Premium account, with all the bells and whistles of Dynamic Lighting, automated character sheets, and some shared materials in the Compendium. I'll purchase or draw maps to use on the VTT, and I'm going to employ music to set the mood, thanks to Discord bots.

Gameplay details

This game doesn't aim to cover the grittiest and ugliest aspects of swashbuckling. But there's still going to be violence and maybe some gore, because hey, cannons. At any point is a scene is too intense or a description is too much, players can message me privately on Discord or Roll20 to have me skip/fade to black as needed. Between sessions, each player can tell me which topics to avoid.
