Temple of the Basilisk Cult

About the adventure

Temple of the Basilisk Cult is an introductory Dungeons & Dragons adventure designed for a group of four or five players of 1st-level characters. New players to D&D 5th Edition and new users of Fantasy Grounds Unity are welcome. Premade characters will be made available for those that need them. The adventuring party are hired on to protect an archaeological expedition in a remote jungle miles away from civilization. An unexpected discovery triggers a series of events that will send the party deep into the jungle. The party will need to scratch and claw their way through a dangerous land to uncover the secrets of the Temple of the Basilisk.

How to prepare

A microphone is required. Webcams are not required but appreciated. All voice and video chat will be handled through Discord. Installation of Fantasy Grounds Unity is required. (The Demo version is enough) For those making characters you can login to the game up to a 1/2 hour ahead of the start time to make a character if you wish. For those wishing to enjoy atmospheric music and sfx please sign-up for Syrinscape and download the Syrinscape Online Player.

Gameplay details

This adventure is a mix of jungle survival, exploration and a dungeon crawl. TTRPG Safety Cards will be used via the Fantasy Grounds chat.

How will character creation work

Pregenerated characters will be available for those who need them. For those who wish to make their own all races and class options found in the PHB, VGtM, MToF, EE, SCAG and TCoE are allowed. For ability scores please use the standard array.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
