About the adventure

Welcome to Grünville, a small farming town not far from Waterdeep. Whether you are a local or a visitor, you happen to be in town the day before a wedding! In a town this small, weddings are no small matter, and just about everyone will be in attendance because the bride is Ms. Thibodeaux, The morning before the wedding, you notice one of the locals, Bobby, looks downtrodden. He is concerned about the Ms. Thibodeaux, but to learn more, you will probably have to explore the town. Hopefully, no trouble is brewing... This game is designed like a tiny sandbox: a simple quest in a small, but explorable setting. It is roughly: 50% social roleplay 30% combat 20% exploration

How to prepare

Please read my table rules at the following link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wCS-IxhLTJUx90m3PkyFZKUURUOV7Ba8cYgzR2SYz-U/edit?usp=sharing I will assume that you have read the rules while we play. Failing to follow them could result in consequences as severe as a table ban, so please make sure you understand them! Make sure you also: 1. Design a character on D&D Beyond or any other website that would allow me to see it if I asked. 2. Send me token art for your character. You may also post it to my Discord in the channel #character-introductions. 2. Join my Discord: https://discord.gg/2x28Dtce 3. Join my Roll20: https://app.roll20.net/join/13793727/1KjJlg

What I provide

I will be providing detailed maps on Roll20, audio narration and roleplay on Discord, an atmospheric music playlist featuring tunes from video games, movies, and pop culture...and entirely too many NPCs!

Gameplay details

The X card is available to all players in the Roll20 through the Journal section. Since everyone can access it, anyone may drop it at any time for any reason, anonymously. Players may choose to disclose that they dropped the X card, or may choose not to say anything at all. When the X card appears on the map, the game will pause for 5 minutes. During that pause, anyone may message the Game Master in order to tell them what went wrong, or something that bothered them. Whether or not the player chooses to disclose this to the Game Master or anyone else, after the pause, the Game Master will do their best to adjust or retcon based on their best intuition. Examples are provided in the X card file within the Journal section, which might help newcomers to this system better understand the kinds of situations which may warrant use of the X card. Note that the X card is "allowed" to be dropped at any time, for any reason. The examples are not the limit.

How will character creation work

If you'd prefer a pre-generated character, I have several you can choose from and revise to your preference. If you'd rather create a character from scratch, read below... Please create your character sheet on D&D Beyond. On the initial setup screen, at the bottom, please mark the character as "Public." Send me a link to your sheet once you have finished. For more details on how to create a character via D&D Beyond, visit: https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1059-how-to-create-your-first-dungeons-dragons I am happy to answer questions and to help newer players through this process! We were all n00bs once. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character Details: * Level 5 * All D&D 5e content published by Wizards of the Coast is acceptable for classes, races, and other features, including optional features such as Custom Lineage. No content from Unearthed Arcana will be allowed, and neither will homebrewed content. * Magic Items: ONE of the following... a. +1 Weapon b. +1 Armor c. Pearl of Power * Please come with an idea of the answer to the following prompt. You do not need to submit your answer to me or even tell other players (unless you'd like to tell us). Answering this prompt ahead of time will help you to feel more immersed in the game. PROMPT: Why is your character in town? Are they a local farmer, or perhaps part of the small town guard? Maybe they are adventurers passing through on their next big quest, or perhaps they have come specifically because of the wedding.
