Dungeons & Dragons 5e

About the adventure

This is a 5e Dungeons and Dragons sandbox game with homebrew elements. Each game grows not only the player characters but also the town itself. As players engage in the game the town expands, more reoccurring NPCs visit, and players gain access to unique and wonderful items. The town of Freeport is the crossroads of a dozen cultures and on the precipice of the wild frontiers of the Renalt Empire. It is a true adventurer's paradise. However, it's also where all of you live. You are simple villagers- peddlers, farmers, blacksmiths, and merchants who live their day to day in the shadow of these legendary figures. These same legendary figures typically cause big fights, kill lots of people, and don't stick around very long to clean up the mess. One day some of you notice a listing on the local job-boards in town: "SEEKING BARBACKS, STOCKKEEPS, ENTERTAINERS, COOKS, AND WAITSTAFF. GOOD PAY. NO HEALTH INSURANCE. NO SCALLYWAGS! - Edgar the Bloody aka The Black Mutineer aka The Red Blade of the West aka The Roar of the Ocean aka Your Boss! IF YE BE INTERESTED COME SEEK EMPLOYMENT AT THE MENAGERIE BAR AND INN. YOU'LL NAY BE DISAPPOINTED!"

Gameplay details

Each game will open either on a Character's Shift in the Tavern or on their weeks off in the town itself. From there they'll interact with NPCs or opportunities that lie around the town. Through combat, successful skill checks or through excellent Roleplay the players improve themselves and the various buildings of Freeport.

How will character creation work

Players will begin at Level 1 with no restriction on Class or Race though they will need DM approval (mostly so I can have an idea of what to expect). First sessions for players will include a vignette of their family life and situation before they are hired by the Tavern.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
