About the adventure
Vibe: What if David Lynch directed an episode of Adventure Time? The land of Auroria used to be one planet inside a luminescent bubble floating in and protected from the Ignoble Void, a hostile and dangerous plane of chaos. However over time the planet became corrupted by Ignoble Energy, threatening the land with nightmarish oil-slick shadow beings. Realizing that the land itself became imbued with this nightmare energy, the heroes of yesteryear decided to sequester it in The Barrens and cast a grand spell to break off that part of the world. In the final battle Auroria was more broken than the heroes expected, shattering into myriad pieces, now drifting apart. The Barrens were carried to the edge of the bubble by the Obelisk Dragons, ancient guardians of Auroria, who to this day are attempting to push it back into the Void in a process that is suspected to take many generations. Until then, this corrupted piece of earth haunts the denizens of Auroria as an unnerving moon. However we don’t remember all that, though it was in some of our lifetimes, the collective memories of the people of Auroria magically shattered with the planet. All that remains is what is written in the Library of Unusual & Notable Affairs (LUNA) and in folk’s personal records. A great evil has been defeated but now a more difficult task has presented itself: stitching together the fragmented communities and exploring the strange places we don’t remember. Luckily we have airships! Speaking of that, you all are the crew of The Magnifying Glass, an odd submarine attached to a glowing glass ornament commissioned by LUNA and captained by Inquirer Liddie Lilacs, an elderly magical inventor who according to her notes, was allegedly one of the heroes of yesteryear. She has assembled this team to explore and travel between fragments to help people threatened by the dangerous miscellania resulting from The Shattering. This time, the crew of The Magnifying Glass has been contacted by the town of Echo Point, a community on a fragment near the edge of The Bubble, to investigate the appearance of a massive cumulus cloud made of pure night sky. Since it floated above their settlement, people have been unable to sleep without having surreal and unsettling nightmares and folks have been struggling to function from a lack of sleep. The plan is to pilot The Magnifying Glass into the cloud to either figure out how to drive it away or determine what is causing the people of Echo Point to be so restless. The heroes can take embody the following roles: Fighter: The fighter takes charge to meet challenges up close. They are weapon masters and martial artists, relying on their physical might to overcome foes. Invoker: The invoker is a battle mage, relying on the force of ideals. They Conjure protective wards, invigorate allies in a pinch, and smite enemies with radiance. Ranger: The Ranger is an outlander, hunter, and skilled navigator, thriving on the fringes of civilization. They keep faithful pets and have a special bond with beasts. Naturalist: The Naturalist channels their connection with nature to manipulate the elements, commune with animals, and even transform themselves into wild beasts. Doctor: The Doctor is a magic scientist who tinkers with the forces of life and death. They reverse (or advance) the effects of damage, disease, and decay. Magician: The Magician specializes in conjuration and psychic manipulation. From parlor tricks to elaborate deceptions, they are master illusionists, capable of twisting the mind. Spy: The Spy is a crafty agent of stealth and subterfuge. They are master assassins and experts in the use of magical gadgets, chemicals, traps, disguises, and forgeries. Wizard: The Wizard is a powerful spellcaster with a diverse set of magical abilities. At the height of their power, they can travel to other worlds and transcend their mortal selves.

Gameplay details
Character generation will happen at the beginning of the session. Character roles already have pre-selected abilities they just need character concepts. The setting is meant to be whimsical and surreal so feel free to be creative! The party will be exploring and facing various challenges and potentially combat. Content is not expected to be particularly dark or grim but feel free to contact in advance if there are any particular triggering topics that might come up in a fantasy adventure game. For safety tools I generally use Lines & Veils and The X-Card.
