About the adventure

For ages, a horde of bandits and terrifying monstrosities laid waste to the once-proud lands now known as the "Stolen Lands." The noble families of Brevoy can no longer bear the relentless raiding. In a bold move, Lady Jamandi Aldori has summoned heroes like yourself to subdue these threats. And there is more than just glory and honor for the greatest heroes. Lady Aldori has pledged to bestow land grants and independence upon those who can best secure the borders through either the strength of arms or the art of diplomacy. Can you seize this opportunity to etch your name into the annals of legend? Are you the hero of Lady Aldori's dreams, destined to return peace and prosperity to the Stolen Lands? In this hexploration campaign, where the power rests in your hands. The party determines the very course of this epic tale and the ultimate plot of the story. In addition, the party may choose to dive into the subplots of city and kingdom building and witness the rise of your majestic domain. Shape the lands, construct grand citadels, and govern your people with wisdom and benevolence. The power to build, expand, and rule lies within your grasp. So, adventurer, will you answer the call? Will you step into the shoes of a legend, battling against the odds to secure your place in history? Embrace the challenge, the triumphs, and the glories that await in the Stolen Lands. Join us for this 5E adaption of the classic Kingmaker AP.

How to prepare

For hardware, players need a computer, a microphone (that can be muted), and speakers. Players should create characters, read the player’s guide, and enjoy some thematic literature, film, or music (Such as Firefly!). From a software standpoint, players should have access to discord and Roll20. Players may prepare a short backstory; included in the backstory should be a hook, or a few, that you want me to use in the game. I do not alter backstories or make character backstories unreliable narrations, so be sure and tell me what you want me to use and how.

What I provide

First and foremost, I will bring the original Pathfinder module handcrafted into a Dungeons and Dragons adventure. 🗺 I bring custom tokens from Heroforge and lovingly crafted custom maps. 👥I also bring colorful NPCs and a love of roleplaying.

Gameplay details

I try to make the environment alive so nonplayer characters and "monsters" will all have motivations and goals that may be different than the players. Content Warnings and Safety Tools: The game is likely to be violent. We will review content in session zero and set boundaries, as the higher-level content will be decided based on the group's preferences. The content can be developed to avoid content that makes players uncomfortable. We will use lines and veils at session 0 and X-Cards during the game.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created before the game session, either at session 0 or on the fly. I appreciate players giving me at least 24 hours' notice so that I can make sure the character is in the game. Statistics: Characters should be created with the point buy method and 27 attribute points. Ancestries: All races from the Player's Handbook and Mordekainen's Monsters of the Multiverse are allowed. All races may use options from "Customizing Your Origin" in Tasha's. Classes: Classes from the following books are allowed: Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. In addition, the Gunslinger Fighter Subclass (for Exandria in DnDBeyond). Gunslinger firearms are not available for sale and are considered part of the class features, but other guns are available. Backgrounds: We are not using backgrounds, but you can build any background (except the special features) using these rules. Every character gets two skill proficiencies and two other proficiencies. An "other" proficiency can be any weapon, tool, or language proficiency. In addition, every character gets to choose a single feat from this list: Actor, Athlete, Chef, Crossbow Expert, Durable, Fighting Initiate, Gunner, Healer, Heavily Armored, Heavy Armor Master, Inspiring Leader, Keen Mind, Lightly Armored, Linguist, Lucky, Martial Adept, Moderate Armored, Observant, Poisoner, Resilient, Skill Expert, Skilled, Tavern Brawler, Tough, or Weapon Master. Starting Equipment: Characters start with class equipment, a set of traveling clothes, and 50gp. Characters may be made in Roll20 or DnDBeyond, and links will be provided.
