About the adventure

The torches whirl past as you rush through the halls. He is behind you. You only have seconds to escape his grasp. You are running the fastest you have ever run in your life, but you know in your heart he is faster and this is his castle. Cruel portraits of his ancestors stare down at you, judging you, threatening you. You dare not look behind, knowing that he is close. You throw open the heavy doors to the balcony and do the only thing you can think to escape his grasp. You leap. As you fall you stare up into the sky and see his face. His dark and cruel face twisted in despair as he reaches for you. His mouth still covered in blood. You don’t feel the impact, but you suddenly realize that you are no longer moving. The full moon fades into utter darkness. You wake with a jolt. You have been having the same nightmare for weeks. But it has been becoming more frequent. More urgent. You could swear that the woman in the dream has been trying to tell you something, but every time you focus it disappears out of reach. You are only a days ride from the nearest town. Perhaps a cleric or historian can shed more light on the vision. If only they could keep that thick fog from rolling in. Suicide Strahd is a campaign centered in Barovia, a fictional dark fantasy land ruled by a sadistic vampire lord. This campaign is geared to take adventurers from level 1-10…if they can survive. This is a horror setting, but everyone’s boundaries will be respected and it should still be a fun experience. Open to beginners, but based on one of the most difficult D&D modules. Players should expect that their characters may die in this game. But as with life in Barovia, death is not the end.

How to prepare

A mic is required for this game. A webcam is recommended but not necessary. No characters should be created before session 0. Sign up to my discord. Follow the Foundry URL. Click on the Zoom Link. An understanding of the rules is recommended but not required.

What I provide

Foundry VTT with fully fleshed out maps. Maps will have lighting, walls, sound cues. No purchase necessary. All you need to join is a link. DND Beyond's character creator, with every option available. No payment necessary, though you do need to create an account. Pregenerated characters for those of you that are new or do not have the time to build a character. A flexible story that incorporates your specific characters and their backstories to personalize every gaming experience. Improvisational skills to allow every player to interact in the world as they wish.

Gameplay details

Initially we will start with safety when we have session 0. During that time we will have an open, no judgement discussion about various possible triggers and how to address them. This conversation will likely fall under the Lines and Veils method. During the game sessions we will have access to anonymous x cards that players will be able to press. If the player does not wants to remain anonymous we will go on break and I will await a private message explaining what we need to change to make everyone comfortable. After the session ends we will have a short debrief. There players can discuss what worked and what didn't for them. If anyone felt triggered, this is another opportunity for them to discuss so that I can adjust future sessions. Lastly, we will have a discord to message me personally at any time with any issues. There will also be a dedicated server that allows for players to address issues and use the Stars and Wishes method.

How will character creation work

During session 0 we will build characters. At that time people are able to access my free character builder on D&D Beyond. Additionally, there will be a selection from pregenerated characters of every class. No characters may be made before session 0, but can be made on your own time after session 0. No homebrew. All official sources are allowed.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
