About the adventure
Tales from the Loop puts you in the shoes of a normal Kid in the 1980s, living in a very abnormal town. Government experiments underneath Boulder City, Nevada resulted in a landscape dotted with sentient robots, flying cargo ships, and holes in the spacetime continuum. Together with your friends, you'll investigate a Mystery and get in Trouble in the vein of Stranger Things, E.T., or Super 8. Like any good 80s movie about a group of kids investigating a mystery, we all know they're going to be okay in the end, even if some of them get hurt or scared temporarily. This game's setting is based around Scifi artist Simon Stalenhag's paintings of 1980s suburbia populated by fantastic machines and strange beasts (well worth a Google Image search). The game won Ennies Gold awards in 5 categories in 2017: Best Game, Best Setting, Best Interior Art, Best Writing, and Product of the Year.

Additional Details
How to prepare
At minimum, you'll need a working microphone and speakers so that you can communicate, and a free account on Discord and Alchemy. Webcams are not necessary, but you're allowed to go on video if you'd like. All dice rolls and character sheets will be handled on Alchemy, and you don't need any experience with the rules to play!
What I provide
I'll set up a selection of pre-generated characters for those who aren't able to create their own, including tokens. I'll handle all maps and artwork necessary for the game, and have a Mystery all mapped out!
Gameplay details
Tales from the Loop creates stories about Kids, but not for kids. As a latchkey kid living in the uncertainty of the end of the Cold War, advent of HIV and the Satanic Panic, and living with parents scarred in one way or another by the 1960s, your Kid may experience some difficult things. That said, character death is off the table for this game. Your Kid might get scared, upset, or hurt and need to go talk to someone they trust, but they'll be fine in the end and grow up with a cool story about their childhood. Your Kid has an Iconic Item, which might be a dog that follows them around. The story will not deprive your Kid of their dog. Your group of Kids will have a hideout where they can talk and hang out, and NPCs will not find it, unless your Kids invite them. In general, this game will follow the tone and rules of a 1980s movie like E.T., Super 8, or The Goonies. Everything will be fine in the end, even if things get pretty perilous along the way.
