About the adventure

A friend beseeches your help—a dungeon filled with horrors must be wiped clean—the fates decree it! A beam of harrowing light emanates from the swamp infested lighthouse. 🔮 Bad omens spell doom for the town! With whispers of an evil sorceress rising and the haunted lighthouse awakening, brave souls are needed to investigate. Foul monstrosities and treasures abound, how will your band of adventurers put a stop to whatever evils and secrets that dwell beneath the ruins? 🏛️ This adventure centres on one massive dungeon—encounter harder challenges the deeper you explore. Expect to retreat back to town between delves and restock in safety. It is filled with dangerous factions and horrors vying for control. Negotiation skills can come in handy to avoid some tough bloodshed. ⚔️ Play the Abomination Vaults Action-RPG before the videogame version comes out! This remix of the adventure emphasises the adrenaline-fueled combat, heavily inspired by videogames like: DOOM, Diablo, and other Action-RPGs. Hack and slash! Loot those treasure chests! 🎲 This Pathfinder 2nd Edition adventure spans Levels 1 to 10, utilising material from Abomination Vaults. There are extra scenarios that can extend this campaign up to Level 12. Play powerful characters who are the only ones brave enough to delve deep and wipe out the evil that has woken up.

How to prepare

• Discord account to talk and text. • Free Forge account to play from a web browser: https://forge-vtt.com/ • Clear microphone with either a quiet background or at least push-to-talk. • Encouraged to use a Webcam but it isn't needed. If you do, follow standard video call etiquette. • After joining the game, view the Prep Materials and follow any other instructions. • After joining my discord server, read and click on the 📕 to agree to my community code of conduct otherwise you cannot join the game.

Gameplay details

🕹️｜GAMEPLAY STYLE ・A town that will act as the home-base for characters to rest when returning from the mega-dungeon. It acts as a hub for purchases, repairs, downtime, and levelling up. Also as a place for social interaction with the NPCs that can aid, give quests, or provide complications. ・The mega-dungeon is the focus of the game and characters should be created that want to follow this adventure, not detract from it. ・The horror vibes of the core adventure will be further emphasised. It will lean heavily towards Action-Horror, like the Diablo and DOOM videogames. ・While there will be plenty of chances to negotiate and connive, the Vaults are full of dangers out to kill you. Some may hide it better than others, especially if they think you're stronger. Depending on the player group one side may be emphasised over the other. ・Character death is more likely to occur in this adventure, so it might be best to come prepared with a backup character concept. 🛡️｜SAFETY TOOLS ・During Session 0 we will discuss Lines and Veils and have an ongoing document for that. ・I also employ the safety tool Script Change ⏯️ by Beau Jágr Sheldon (http://briebeau.com/scriptchange), which replaces X, N, O Cards. ・A 10 minute break will occur roughly halfway through the session. ・Further details of all tool implementations are provided within the discord server. How will character creation work

• We'll have a Session 0 to discuss creating a cohesive group of characters, making any necessary connections that occurred before the adventure started. • To tie your character to the setting and scenario, I encourage you to look at the official Player Guide for this adventure: https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf • We will use FoundryVTT to create our characters (but for those who might want to experiment beforehand can use: https://pathbuilder2e.com/). • Anyone that joins later or needs to create a new character, will make a character at the party's current level. • Characters start at Level 1. • All classes/ancestries/heritages/backgrounds allowed.
