About the adventure

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... ESCAPE FROM MOS SHUUTA It is a period of unrest and opportunity in the galaxy. The Galactic Empire struggles to maintain control in the midst of civil war. Meanwhile, scoundrels and smugglers, explorers and expatriates, and fringers of all types scramble for a living on the edges of galactic civilization. It is a hard life, but these renegades have more freedom and opportunity than any citizen of the Core Worlds. On the desert world of TATOOINE, a few such renegades have run afoul of a local crime boss, TEEMO THE HUTT. Trapped in the tiny spaceport of Mos Shuuta, the renegades have no choice but to steal a starship and flee Teemo's forces. Fortunately, a suitable starship has recently docked at the landing bay: a freighter called the KRAYT FANG, captained by a Trandoshan slaver named Trex. As they flee through the suns-baked streets, the renegades duck into the local cantina to hide from their pursuers... This adventure takes place in Mos Shuuta, a small city on the desert world of Tatooine. Mos Shuuta is situated on the top of a tall, rocky bluff, with nothing but endlessdesert in every direction around it. As the story begins, the PCs are attempting to escape the servants of the ruler of Mos Shuuta, Teemo the Hutt. Each of the PCs is in trouble with Teemo the Hutt for one reason or another, as explained in their character folios. The only way to get off planet and escape Teemo the Hutt is to steal a ship and fly to safety. Fortunately, they'll get a chance to do exactly that, by stealing a ship called the Krayt Fang from a Trandoshan named Trex.

How to prepare

Bring yourself! Ideally take a little read through your character sheet, making sure you have a grasp of your character's backstory, abilities and equipment. You will need a microphone (webcam optional!), we will be using discord for dice rolls, and roll 20 for maps, so you don't need to install anything, just need a web browser and a discord & Roll20 account 👍 Printing out your character sheet is also optional, but highly recommended!

What I provide

Mapping will take place in Roll20 using the official maps from the EOTE beginner game. All artwork and character sheets will come from the beginner rulebook! If you want a custom avatar or drawing of your character, you are welcome to draw your own and send it to me, or find an image you like online!

Gameplay details

If you enjoy watching the Star Wars movies, this should be a very similar experience! The combat is quick and decisive, the characters are well-defined and have their strengths and weaknesses. I want you to be able to jump into your first session knowing nothing about the Star Wars FFG system, and leave feeling confident in how it works, and having had a great time while you did it! This is achieved by taking you through the beginner adventure for Edge of the Empire. The system is a slightly simplified and more forgiving version of the full Edge of the Empire rules, so it will get you set up well for further adventures on the fringes of the Star Wars universe! The Edge of the Empire game is one of three companion games. The other two are Age of Rebellion, and Force & Destiny. These three games can all be used together for the ultimate Star Wars experience! You could begin your adventure as a shady smuggler, trying to make a quick buck, then fall in with the rebellion in the struggle against the Empire, only to find out that you have dormant force powers just waiting to be unleashed... Obviously, with people coming from all backgrounds and parts of the world, we will have different expectations of how we want the game to go. We will be comfortable with different levels of interaction, whether there is violence in our games, and whether we are comfortable swearing (and hearing others swear!) or not. To make sure you are completely comfortable I will book a short session with you before our first game, to discuss your expectations, choose a character, and answer any questions that you might have. Then I can make sure to pair you up with a group you feel comfortable playing with! Don't want your first session to be with a bunch of strangers? No problem! I can run through this adventure for you and your friends, or we can even play solo, where you are the hero of your own story!

How will character creation work

I will provide templates for 6 starting characters which you can pick from. If you are happy to go with a stock character, all you need to do is pick one from the list! If you want to create your own character, or modify an existing character that is fine too, and we can sort that out during our intro session!
