About the adventure

Church bells toll out across a city haunted by ghosts and secrets. Desperate rogues work together to pull heists and evade the attention of the Bluecoats. You never know where you next meal will come from, if your next job will be your last, or if that glint in the corner of your eye just might be a blade in the dark. Blades in the Dark is a game about daring scoundrels pulling heists in the industrial-fantasy city of Doskvol. It's a fiction-first game that makes generous use of flashbacks to tell an awesome crime story. This one-shot will cover at least one job, possibly with a chance to do some downtime activities depending on how pacing goes. If you're new to Blades in the Dark, or RPGs in general, you're more than welcome!

How to prepare

I'll provide you with some player information, which you can read if you want to be a little more prepared. However, I'll be explaining all the rules as we play, so don't stress.

How will character creation work

We'll do character creation together in the first portion of the session, choosing from a limited pool of partially finished characters. Feel free to come with an idea but be ready to be flexible!

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
