Solo or Duo Introduction to D&D 5th Edition! Perfect for Brand New Players

About the adventure

Hey there, I'm Zak. I've been DMing and bringing new players into the hobby of table top RPGs for over 6 years now. As you can see on my profile, I have had the pleasure of playing with over 50 people, throwing more than 10,000 dice rolls, logging more than 5000 hours (though who's kidding who, most of that was prep work time). For these reasons and my love of introducing new players to RPGs, I am offering to run sessions for one or a pair of players teaching them the basics of D&D 5th edition. The payment includes complete assistance making a level one character, an introduction to using Roll20, learning the basics of combat, and the answer to every one of your D&D questions. Confusing combat rules? Stealth? Can I swing from that chandelier? All of these questions and more will be answered immediately by an experienced DM. After character creation we will be playing a short adventure titled, 'A Brother Lost.' This adventure includes heroic rescues, exploration, puzzles, treasure, and of course monsters! Additionally I will be using a full soundtrack, along with a full set of battle maps complete with Dynamic Lighting. Combat has never been easier than when you can see exactly what your character would see! It is $15 for one person, $24 for two. If you have a larger group of friends who wish to learn how to play, other arrangements can be made, feel free to message me. I am very flexible on which days of the week and what times to play. I am located in EST but can cater to west coast, UK, Europe, and Australia as needed. The game will use Discord for voice chat unless you require other arrangements.

How to prepare

Sign up for an account with Roll20 and Discord. Feel free to have a look through the D&D Basic Rules located here https://media.wizards.com/2018/dnd/downloads/DnD_BasicRules_2018.pdf if you get curious or want to be extra prepared. That said, I'm ready to teach from the ground up.

What I provide

I will be bringing maps, soundtrack, and assistance with using Roll20 and putting the character sheet and Compendium to your advantage. I will also show you how to make macros for your character's basic attacks so you can quickly roll dice in future games on Roll20.

Gameplay details

Our time together will begin with a discussion on what type of character you would like to play. We will go over the pros and cons of the various races and classes, typical archetypes, or just dive right into creating an idea you've had in your head. Once the character sheet is filled out we move onto the real fun, playing the game! This adventure includes exploration, monster slaying, puzzle solving, and the option of talking your way out of trouble.

How will character creation work

The character will start at level 1 and be created on Roll20 with me. This process will include learning how to put your character sheet together on Roll20, a process which some players have found intimidating.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
