About the adventure

This is a homebrew system that is currently being developed. Your characters will gain experience by using their different skills. Use them enough, and you'll advance that skill. This'll be a low fantasy game at the beginnings of a zombie apocalypse. You may develop spells and combat techniques interchangeably as you like. I'll also be getting plenty of roleplay opportunities and ancient riddles in there as well, but expect most of your time to be in combat. You'll have base stats with modifiers like in D&D, with some miscellaneous stats w/o mods. There is no limit to how many skills you can have on the sheet only roleplay limitations if your character takes an oath or something. Proficiencies for individual skills will range from +0 to +8* with you rolling a d12 at +0 and rolling a d4 and rerolling 1s at +8*. You'll add stat modifiers according to how the DM rules, and your proficiency will increase during long rest if you've pushed yourself enough times in the skill. You can also train in feats so you can do really cool things with your skills aside from the generic things that the skill does. Depending on the difficulty of the feat you'll receive an initial penalty to the proficiency given by your DM. The initial penalty ranges from the easy -2 to the mastery -8. As you use the feat more, the penalty slowly decreases until it is gone, and you've mastered the feat. -8 to -6* to -6 to -4* and so on to zero. +4* is read plus four enhanced.

How will character creation work

We'll have multiple sessions to all develop the characters together and I'll be there to help guide you every step of the way. We'll roll dice for base stats and determine racial and gender adjustments. You'll be given a number of points to distribute amongst your skill proficiencies having one skill with at least +4* and at least three other skills with some proficiencies. You may also be allowed to put your points toward feats if you have enough left over.

Players can expect

  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Open to all
