About the adventure

Deep within the heart of the enchanted kingdom lies a forest that is steeped in magic and wonder. Known as the Cedar Grove, this vast expanse of trees and foliage is a place of great beauty and mystery, where the very air is charged with the energies of the mystical realm. As one wanders through the Cedar Grove, they are greeted by a symphony of sounds and colors. The trees here are tall and majestic, their branches reaching up to the sky in a dance of life and vitality. The leaves are a deep green, shimmering in the sunlight and rustling gently in the breeze. But it is not just the trees that make the Cedar Grove such a magical place. The forest is home to a vast array of creatures, both great and small. There are birds that sing sweetly in the treetops, their melodies filling the air with joy and wonder. There are rabbits that dart through the underbrush, their fur soft and warm to the touch. And there are deer that roam the forest floor, their graceful forms a testament to the beauty of nature. As one continues deeper into the Cedar Grove, they will come across a great many wonders. There are streams that run crystal clear, their waters sparkling in the sunlight. There are groves of wildflowers, their blooms a riot of colors that seem to dance in the breeze. And there are glades where the moss is soft and thick, inviting one to lay down and bask in the warmth of the sun. But it is not just the physical beauty of the Cedar Grove that makes it so fascinating. There is a sense of magic that pervades the entire forest, an energy that seems to flow through the very trees and stones. Those who enter the Cedar Grove often feel a sense of peace and calm, as if the very air itself is imbued with a sense of wonder and awe. However, a growing darkness is seems to be spreading throughout the forest as of late. The trees are dying and the animals are becoming aggressive. Do you have what it takes to figure out what is causing this darkness and put a stop to it before it’s too late? Shadows In The Ancient Cedar Grove is a 5th Edition one-shot adventure designed for a group of four 12th level characters. The theme is dark fantasy and mystery.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will need to join my Discord and have access to Zoom. A decent knowledge of the rules is required. Be prepared to role play your character. You will need to have your own dice. You are welcome to build your character on paper or DnD Beyond.

What I provide

I will provide area maps and battle maps.

Gameplay details

Players can expect exploration, role playing, in-depth mystery, combat, and a rules light experience. We will go over all safety details in session zero, including topics that will never be explored in the game. I always encourage a safe environment for players to have fun and explore their creativity. Characters will be created during session zero. I also encourage role-playing and using voices for your characters. But if you’re not comfortable with that, it is ok. We can always work around it. There will be a good deal of combat, and players will need to use teamwork and their abilities to overcome obstacles and challenges. There will be a descriptive introduction to describe the setting and set a mood. Then the session will formally begin.
