About the adventure

You creep towards the edge of the inky black water. The flickering torchlight pushes back the darkness just enough for you to see that nothing disturbs the lake's surface... Until a tentacle explodes from the water. It cinches around your waist, yanks you high into the air. Desperate, you raise your sword again and again--hacking at the dark, oily flesh. Ichor jets forth and the tentacle goes slack, dropping you to the cavern's hard, rocky surface. Five more tentacles burst from the underground lake. A curved, hook-like beak chomps from deep within its oblong body, as if it can already imagine what your insides taste like. Waisting no time, you scramble to your feet, turn to flee from the cave... and see a drow standing between you and the exit. She nocks an arrow, points it at your chest. "I've been waiting for this," she says. What do you do? In Out of the Abyss, you play as an escaped prisoner on the run from a deadly group of drow who would like nothing more than to see you rot in a dark, dank cage for the rest of your life. Your only hope is to navigate the twisted passageways, large caverns, and forgotten civilizations until you find safe passage to the world above. In this exciting campaign, characters will begin at level 1 and reach level 15 by the epic finale.

How to prepare

Webcam and mic not required. No knowledge of the rules is necessary. Free Discord and DnD Beyond account required. Communication, die rolling, and character movement will be handled over Discord. I will check in and post several times every weekday.

What I provide

Through my DnD Beyond account, you will have access to the Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, Dungeon Master's Guide. I will provide maps and tokens that we'll use over Discord. A fast-paced narrative, combat, and puzzles.

Gameplay details

This is a post at your own pace game. It doesn't take place at a certain time. We'll post over Discord and roll dice using Avrae. I'll post gridded maps in Discord during combat encounters.
