About the adventure

In ages past, the Blackstaff was a mage who possessed knowledge and power in unsurpassed measure. The title has long since been forgotten, but the magic of that age still exists to those who are granted access--and to no one else. In today’s age, all that remains of the magic of the Blackstaff are hidden runic repositories, guarded by entities skilled in measuring a person’s character. Some gods still remember where these secrets are hidden, but none can be sure who currently claims the title of Blackstaff; but that being exists, and is beginning to put their designs into motion. Their aim? Unlimited power.

How to prepare

Microphone required for Discord voice chat. Free Roll20 account required. Knowing the D&D 5e rules is a plus, but not required. Game will be 100% online so no physical dice, sheets, or books will be needed.

What I provide

All online content will be supplied and prepared by me. I can also create character portraits for PCs using Hero Forge (including rotating GIFs).

Gameplay details

The party will travel across a fleshed-out country and encounter a variety of friends and foes along the way. Combat will involve dynamic lighting and myriad variants of base monster templates. Strategy and creativity in battle will get you far. Player backstories will be factored into the story for the purposes of roleplaying and world building.

How will character creation work

We will do character creation during session 0. Players will have the choice of rolling 4d6-lowest or choosing standard array. All rolls will be performed on Roll20 and must be witnessed by the GM. You may choose standard array after rolling if you do not want to stick with your roll results.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
