How to prepare
Technical preparation: • The big thing here is that you need a computer with a stable internet connection and a reliable way for us to hear your voice. We are using Discord for audio. You can download it for free if you don’t have it already. The computer version works great if you have a microphone, otherwise, you can put it on your phone and use earbuds. You will also need to make a free account on Roll20.net. This doesn’t require any additional downloads, all services will be provided through the browser. Social Preparation: • This is a game that we are all playing to have fun. You should be excited to play and also be excited for other people to join you and have fun as well. Players should arrive with an attitude of friendly cooperation. • No previous game experience is required to join. However, if you are looking for ways to prepare for the game you might consider some of the following activities: 1)Cultivate creativity by engaging in activities that inspire your imagination, such as reading books, watching films or animations, or even taking nature walks. Allow yourself to be open to new ideas and possibilities. 2)Reflect on emotional themes. Take a moment to reflect on the themes of the changing seasons and the emotional journeys they represent. Consider your own experiences and feelings associated with the seasons. This reflection can help you connect with the game's themes on a personal level. One-on-one: • I’d like to schedule a short 5-10 minute conversation over Discord sometime before session 0. Just to introduce myself, answer any questions you might have, and smooth over any snags before we jump into the game.

How will character creation work
Character creation is a collaborative process. We will work as a group to make characters and talk about our goals. You don't need any prior familiarity with the game system – it's designed to be accessible and beginner-friendly. During Session 0, we will come together as a group to bring our anthropomorphic animal characters to life. While we collectively craft our group of travelers, I’ll go over the rules and setting of Wanderhome. Creating characters in Wanderhome is meant to be fun and easy. You’ll choose your animal species, determine your character's appearance and personality, and decide on their unique quirks and abilities. We'll engage in open discussion and collaboration, ensuring that each character is a vibrant and integral part of our storytelling journey. No prior knowledge of Wanderhome is necessary – just bring your imagination, enthusiasm, and a willingness to collaborate.
