About the adventure

This is a Monster Of The Week Campaign set in the mysterious world of the SCP Foundation. The SCP Foundation is a mysterious shadow organization tasked with maintaining the status quo in a world where terrifying anomalies could be around every corner. Our story takes place in the small sleepy town of Covenwood, WA (think Twin Peaks) where the citizens live slow happy lives. That is, until a massive sinkhole opens up in front of the bank! Why was there a sinkhole so close to a bank? Could it be more sinister? Could this get any more cliché? It is up to a random assortment of locals, tourists, professional hitmen and/or spooky ghost children (played by you and your party members) to find out! It's gonna be a very relaxed environment where we can all just relax and enjoy a Comedy/Horror improv world! !!!!!!!!No prior knowledge of The SCP Foundation or Monster of The Week necessary!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to prepare

All that's needed is a Mic. When you join the session there will be a week or two before hand where players can meet their party members, ask me questions about gameplay mechanics, work on their characters. Pre-game preparation will be guided by me the GM

What I provide

All you need is a Roll20 account and Discord!

Gameplay details

I like to think about Monster Of The Week as "DnD with less rules" You have stats and roll two 6-sided die for every skill check. Everything is scaled around having a maximum dice number of 12 instead of 20. Every character has 7 health and if you hit 0 health, you die. This makes it seem like things are pretty extreme, but the highest damage in the game is 4 points. Also Skill Checks are only made by players. Rather than beating a DM's skill check, you roll for 'consequences'. <6: Bad consequences 7-9: You succeed at what you want to do but take a negative effect >10: Total success (no negative consequences) >12: You succeed at what you want to do and get extra bonuses Combat and Roleplay are played the same way, and combat is very simplified because of this. Not to say the fights aren't fun, but you can just "use magic" rather than having a list of spells to manage. Rather than rolling to attack and then rolling for damage: you just roll and you either succeed or fail, doing consistent damage every time.
