Sci-Fi Roleplaying for Beginners: Learn to play The Expanse RPG.

About the adventure

This is an introductory adventure for "The Expanse Role-Playing Game". Set on the exciting and Hard-sci fi setting of the popular book and TV Series of the same name, this one-shot sees the crew of the cargo hauler "Sommelier" as they are enticed by a rich CEO to search for his missing son on a belter space station. But, like always, there is more than meets the eye, the kid is an adult after all, and he might not want to come back... Fast, exciting, full of mystery and action, this scenario can serve as a great way to get introduced to the setting and the rules of the Expanse. It is also a good point to start a full-fledged campaign if players are interested. As GM I tend to focus a lot on the new player's experience, and I enjoy introducing new players to the genre. In this session players will: Learn the Basic Rules of the Expanse RPG and the Age ruleset it is based on. Learn the basics of using Virtual Tabletops to play RPGs online, specifically FoundryVTT. Learn a few tips and tricks to have more fun while role-playing: While RPGs vary in rules and style, there are a few things players new to the genre should know. This includes potential tips for those who want to GM too!

How to prepare

No preparation necessary, but if players wish they can read the first part of The Expanse quickstart rules available for free at drive-through RPG.

What I provide

I bring a fully prepared VTT, including supporting concept art, battle maps, background music, and tokens. Everything necessary to make the experience as immersive as possible, without breaking the moments of roleplaying.

Gameplay details

There is violence, both personal and politically motivated. Some might resemble domestic violence. The X card is always in effect. During the session, players are expected to be respectful and not engage in any form of bigotry.

How will character creation work

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
