About the adventure

This is a free session 0 for an ongoing paid Savage Worlds Campaign. We'll get together, discuss the setting, tone and style of game that we'd like to play, work out schedules, and (time permitting) begin character work. No previous experience with Savage Worlds is required, and I'd love a chance to introduce new players to the exciting system! While there's no end to potential games, and I'm certainly open to ideas and discussions, I've come up with a few concepts to feel groups out on ideas: Officials of the Seven Realms A high fantasy game loosely inspired by Chinese folk religion. The Seven Realms are a wondrous, ordered system, placing everyone where they belong through rigorous tests, lawful adjudication, and imperial will. Each Realm has its function, and to this end the people there adapt to new forms. Each has their place and purpose, from the lowest ogres below the earth, to the dragons of the stars... and very few stop to wonder about just who writes the tests and selects the judges. The Player Characters are an official taskforce, drawn from across the Seven Realms and sent to solve problems across the realms. From tax evaders to bandits to souls reincarnating in the wrong Realm to battling minions of the Four Great Evils. Whether PCs continue serving the Imperial status quo, with all its corruption and hidden motives, is another matter... One More Round A super-pirate alternate history game. The year is 1720. Piracy in the Caribbean is all but wiped out, and legendary pirates are ending up hanged or jailed across the world. Nevertheless, the War of Spanish Succession has left a great many unemployed sailors with combat experience, and trade still flows between Asia and Europe. The Player Characters are taking one last shot for money, infamy, and adventure. Operating from the last few pirate bases hidden in Madagascar, they raid and plunder European and Mughal ships alike. The game begins with the raid of an East India Company ship, and the discovery of a new drug. The drug causes mystic hallucinations... and the manifestation of super powers. The Perils of Point 5102 A modern pulp horror adventure with places to go... The Player Characters are all modern experts in any number of fields: archeological, mountaineering, criminal, etc. They've been gathered together and hired by Professor Frederick Edgeton, a young English-Indian historian specializing in the Indian subcontinent. He's offered staggering sums to help him find a ruin he believes is on Point 5102. The problem? Point 5102 is in Kashmir. On the line of control between Pakistan and India. To get there, you're going to have to evade both armies, scale a previously unclimbed Himalayan peak, and then... and then deal with whatever horrors are waiting for you... Deadlands Reloaded A weird west horror alternate history. This isn't one of my settings, but a Savage World's classic. The Year is 1878. The history is not your own. Technology advances based on mysterious ghost rock, the United States of America is torn apart by not only violence but seismic shifts, and bandits, ghosts and monsters from your worst nightmares are haunting the West. The PCs set out across the wild and weird American west to find their fame and fortune... and maybe help out a few people along the way. Engaging in picaresque horror stories and larger plots to discover just what it is that has made the world go mad... and fight it. Together we'll create the game you want to play!

Come in with ideas and a willingness to hear the ideas of others. It will also help to know your schedule, so we can work out those details.

What I provide

I'll have more details on the four main options, a willingness to listen to other ideas and pitches, the rulebooks, and lots of enthusiasm!

Gameplay details

We'll be talking about what players want out of a typical session. The final game will be designed to best fit the preferred play styles and interests of the players involved. Whatever game is settled on, I will be employing X-cards. We'll also talk about what kind of experiences players wish to have and to avoid, especially for the potential horror games.
