About the adventure
The annual Squash festival in Crowden, Pennsylvania is the lifeblood of the little farm town. The food, fun, and games draw tourists from around the state and beyond to the picturesquely rustic mountain village. Cars jockey for parking, parents shop for knickknacks, and the joyous squeals of children fill the air. It's a week before Halloween, but costumes are always encouraged anyway. But among the rubber-masked ghouls and goblins, there's another terror lurking; one that's all too real. Drawn by seemingly unrelated news stories buried on page 3C and largely ignored by the tourists, you find yourself in Crowden on the trail of a local legend. Drawn into a web of mysterious disappearances, it's up to you to find out why the locals clear the streets and lock their doors early on Bonfire Night. This is an introductory adventure for Monster of the Week, a rules-light and super fun game of monsters and mysteries in the key of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural. Grab your gear, hunter. It's time to be a hero.

How to prepare
Players will need a microphone to participate in voice chat. Accounts in both Discord (for voice) and Roll20 (for character sheets and dicerolls) will be required to play. Both of those are free services, but having existing accounts will keep things easy-breezy when we gather for game-time. A passing familiarity with Monster of the Week or other Powered by the Apocalypse games is a bonus, but not entirely necessary. The mechanics are light and narrative and can be picked up in play.
What I provide
I'll be bringing custom maps, funny voices, and a high-octane monster-hunting adventure.
Gameplay details
This adventure has some spooky stuff included with the possibility of body-horror. I tailor games to my audience, so be aware that Lines and Veils will be discussed prior to getting started. The X-card is always in play for everyone's safety. My priority is always the safety and fun of the game before all else.
