About the adventure

Snuggled along the coast is the seaside town of Crystal Cove. The sea port used for shipping is growing quickly and all are enjoying the prosperity. Everyone knows each other and life is good. Threats and monsters are seldom seen near town though they do exist farther from civilization. The sheriff, harbormaster and town council keep order and families enjoy raising their children here. However, recently unexplained acts of vandalism have occurred at night and the sheriff has been unable to capture the criminals. This is on top of the recent disappearance of a paladin from the nearby city of Knock. He was delivering a religious artifact to Crystal Cove's church when he disappeared en route. Rumor has it the town council is calling a meeting to discuss the recent events and possibly offer a reward for a group of adventurers to investigate. Is there a hidden threat to the city? Are the mischievous children in town to blame for the vandalism? Are monsters encroaching on our tranquil town? These and more are the rumors you've heard. You could really use the gold and you do have some special skills that would benefit a party of investigators. After all, how dangerous could it be?... This adventure is designed to allow new players to learn the game quickly while still being fun for more experienced players. It is also meant to be a smaller time commitment while still allowing enough time for role playing without being rushed like a one shot game. Play time is typically 3 sessions (3 hours per session) for 3-6 Level 2 characters. I rate this adventure at PG13 for descriptions of graphic violence (it is D&D after all). The game play is *expected* to be: Social interactions: 25% Exploration/Investigation: 50% Combat: 25% To accelerate into the adventure, maintain class balance, and allow easy entry for new players; all characters will be *pre-generated* humans at level 2. You may choose from the following basic Level 2 Human characters: Cleric Rogue Fighter Wizard Druid Ranger We will use Roll20 for dynamic lighting maps and sound effects. Discord for conversation. Payment will be $15/session. The goal is to end all sessions near the 3 hour time limit to respect everyone's time. Players are expected to be respectful of the other players and consider their enjoyment of the game in the choices they make. If needed, I will give only one warning before ejection. Be advised, I play non-player characters intelligently so player death is always a possibility depending on in-game choices. I have ways to keep players with dead characters in the game should that occur though. ;-)
