About the adventure

'Cleopatra is holding the city of Rome hostage! There are over a million people here, go and secure the grain she promised us by any means necessary, before True Romans start to starve!' Set during the fall of the Roman Republic between 27 and 31 BC this game will explore the role Cleopatra played in the rise of Octavian, remembered to history as Augustus. The players will be tasked by Octavian with journeying to Egypt to secure the grain by any means necessary. Despite having an historical setting, the game will not be bound by history. From this starting point the players are free to shape events as they see fit. Will you side with Cleopatra and rebel against Rome? Will you secure the grain through diplomacy, or will you go in all guns blazing for the glory of Rome!? It's really all up to you. Players will generate level 5 characters, and for the purposes of this game, will all 'present' as human. So even if you're stats are those of a Hill Dwarf, you will still look human, just a particularly strong one, a Scythians, perhaps?

How to prepare

You will need a webcam and Mic. Rules knowledge is not super necessary, and I am happy to help with rules clarifications. Ideally you will own a copy of tabletop simulator on Steam, but if not, I can get around that relatively easily by screen sharing. If you want to come prepared in terms of historical knowledge, HBO's Rome sets the tone for this one shot super well.

How will character creation work

Please create and submit characters beforehand. They should have a 'buy in' for the game, I.e why they are in Rome, and what their job is. Previous good examples have included priests of Vesta, Paladins of Mars, Praetorian guards, and senators.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
