About the adventure

In this One-Shot session, jump inside the cockpit of one of your favorite starfighters and join Rogue Squadron in an attack on a secret Imperial weapons facility. This Star Wars RPG by FFG game will be focused on the dangers of space and high intensity dogfights with opportunities to role-play between your other pilots and NPCs. By using one of the pre-generated pilot portfolios in Roll20, joining the fight has never been easier. Or bring one of your own pilot characters to the mission to earn some experience and glory for the Rebellion. In either case, your actions will affect the battle at large and could alter the chain of events that determine mission success or failure! MISSION: Rogue Squadron must escort friendly bombers through a dangerous nebula to strike at a secret Imperial weapons facility hidden deep in the asteroid belt surrounding Karvoss II. Timing is key, as the Star Destroyer stationed there will be swapping with another, leaving a small window of opportunity for the strike team to hit the target and escape before the replacement arrives.

Gameplay details

The FFG Star Wars RPG game uses a narrative dice system to resolve checks. The dice pool will consist of positive dice and negative dice, the positive dice determined by your characteristics, skills, and other boosts, while the negative dice are determined by difficulty, challenge level, and other setbacks. All of these are determined by your (or the NPC's) character sheets and the GM. Additionally, the game uses an API to make rolling and gameplay effortless. As a player, you don't need to know anything before joining. Just come with an open mind and be ready for a great Star Wars adventure!

How will character creation work

I would highly suggest using a pregenerated character for this One-Shot. There are several options to fit your "piloting personality" and can be tweaked if necessary. Additionally, you will have 50XP to improve and customize your specific pilot! These all reside in the Roll20 server where the game will be played. We use an API-compatible character sheet within Roll20 that makes rolling extremely easy! If creating a character from scratch, they will receive 50XP after character creation (not to be spent on characteristics) to upgrade your skills and talents. If you would like you use an existing character, or a new one you've created, you will need to submit the character for approval. I will provide additional character creation rules if requested. That being said, I would like to avoid having extremely high level characters mixed with lower level ones so no one feels that their character is ineffective.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
