Road to Phandalin

About the adventure

Set in the Neverwinter Vale of the Forgotten Realms, this one-shot serves as a prelude to the modern classic "Lost Mines of Phandelver" and an intro to Dungeons and Dragons. It features a little roleplay, a little exploration, and a little combat, as the adventurers meet their patron and set out on their journey to become heroes. Dip your toe into D&D here! Players will choose from 12 pregenerated characters in this introductory adventure, with the option to revisit character creation after the session. We will be using Discord for audio, FoundryVTT for combat, and WorldAnvil for campaign management. Farms dot the landscape, supplying the logging and mining towns of the valley, though most of these communities were abandoned or razed following the collapse of Neverwinter itself. Those were dark days." "Now that trade and prosperity has come again to the city of Neverwinter, opportunity beckons once more. Materials are in strong demand here and elsewhere along the Sword Coast, and so colonists have come to resettle the Vale, to again harvest the forest and mine the earth. But what evil has taken root here, since civilization's retreat those decades ago?"

How to prepare

Please have a mic, a Discord handle, and a web browser with hardware acceleration enabled.

What I provide

Foundry Virtual Tabletop to manage combat, WorldAnvil to manage the campaign, a Discord server to let us chat, and pregenerated characters for you to choose from. If we extend this into a campaign, we will revisit character creation between sessions.
