About the adventure

The setting is a fantastical place where humanity struggles against an ever encroaching Underworld Realm of Chaos. The adventure is on when characters risk life and limb in search of fabulous treasure with the dream of retiring in comfort. Those who survive may become powerful nobles in charge of forces of dragon mounted knights, or perhaps cunning wizards casting horrible spells from spider haunted towers. This campaign is for dreamers willing to traverse the ancient path of fantastic swords & sorcery adventure.

How to prepare

Players only need a mic. No camera is required. We will play on Discord and Roll20. Players do not need to read any rules ahead of time. Players do not need to create characters if they do not want to. All that is required is some paper, a pencil with an eraser and some polyhedral dice.

What I provide

I may post images and maps. I may just referee like it was done in the olden times: talking it out.

Gameplay details

Very little time is spent on character generation. Players will keep track of experience points and expenditures of wealth. I tend not to dilly dally around and to jump right into the adventure. I will describe what your characters see, hear, smell, etc. When it's a player's turn to do something, then they will describe the character's actions. I will tell the players whether they succeed, fail or if we need to consult the dice. If a player wants to gauge their chances, then I will give them a number to roll for. Most rolls are made by the players. Some rolls are required to be rolled by the Referee. Players are not expected to voice act their characters. There is violence in this game and player characters can be killed, mortally wounded, or even retired due to injuries. So my advice is to not get attached to characters. The goal is to have fun and play to see what happens.

How will character creation work

The characters will start out at first level. They will be created at the beginning of each game session and, upon the death of a character, on the fly. If your character advances and then dies at 5th level, then you can create another character at 4th level to step in. I will provide new characters with magic items and money.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
