About the adventure

The stakes are high and the puzzles are plentiful as our heroes race to save the next generation of fairies from total destruction. The Premise: Every 350 years during the Spring Festival (the “Turning of the Buds”), the youngest faeries in the realm reach full maturity, and are sent by the Seely court on a deadly mission: gather the newest harvest of faerie eggs from the farthest reaches of the Fey Kingdom. Those that successfully complete this rite of passage return to Castle Skylock as heroes, gain their wings, and earn the right to vy for a position in the new court, ruling until the newest eggs reach maturity. Those that perish on the trek are honored, their names woven into the fiber of the forest. Those that refuse to make the trek resign themselves to a fate worse than death: become a wingless commoner, serving the Seely court for the rest of their days through menial labor, constantly reminded of the banality of their existence. Accompanied by their mentors Jacquimo and Nurella, the adventurers embark on a journey to create their own destiny. But adventurers be wary! Your mission may be sabotaged by evil doers, faerie poachers, hags, the elements, and perhaps even members of your own court… Designed as a one-shot experience. Can be tailored for groups of all experience levels.

How to prepare

For online sessions, players need access to a wifi-enabled device like a laptop or desktop computer, a mic, and the Zoom app. Until further notice, all games will be held virtually. Players should have some knowledge of the classes and abilities of DnD, but before the character creation session can come with an idea of what they'd like their character to be able to do. If you would like a pre-generated character, I can design one for you and tweak it to your preference.

What I provide

This session comes with handmade maps, pre-generated characters (if you prefer this to creating your own character), a session epilogue after the game, and thank you email! For in person games, I also bring handmade 3D terrain and physical copies of maps for each player (with some surprise props!), and sets of TTRPG dice for you to use for the duration of the game.

Gameplay details

This game contains the aforementioned safety tools and has themes of: -Disappearance/Possible Kidnapping -Natural Disasters -Death *Generally, you can expect to have similar content to a PG-rated movie. **This game (like all of my games) requires each player to fill out a preference survey to express interest and comfort level with these topics. We start the session with a 20 minute overview of our comfort levels, and any additions we'd like to make as a group. ***Open to All, although more experienced characters will have an easier time rolling up backup characters (if your group decides it wants deadly encounters)

How will character creation work

The date, time, and scope of the character creation process will be decided by the group during finalizing booking. For more experienced groups, character sheets can be sent to me at: peregrine.the.dm@gmail.com For newer groups, we can schedule a free, 60 minute session before the game to support with character creation, or I can create pre-generated characters for you before the game. *Your Characters: -You are one of dozens of children of the court, not-yet-titled, and wingless -Level 5 -Race Options: human variant, wood elf, or high elf -Ability scores: standard array -You are automatically granted the "Feytouched" feat, and may choose an additional feat instead of the ability score increase at level 4 (if you'd like) -You have a mount, it can be anything from the forest that makes sense (a badger, bumblebee, sparrow, caterpillar... just let me know so I can create a stat block for your mount)
