Beginners D&D Campaign: Ptolus the City by the Spire

About the adventure

Originally designed for Dungeons and Dragons 3.0 by Monte Cook, Ptolus has recently been released for both DnD 5e, and the Cypher system. 800 pages of content! This is a totally immersive environment. This campaign is an open world sandbox with City of Ptolus as the environment. The setting is in the City of Ptolus, which has about 130 thousand people. It is high-fantasy, so you will see people and creatures of all types mingling, although it is primarily human. There are 2 additional character races available: the Litorian and the Assarian. The Litorians of Lion-like people and the Assarians are semi-aquatic reptiles. Starting characters are 1st level, and any player handbook characters and classes are allowed. The pantheon is basic D&D mixed with a lot of new gods. The Lothian church is stylized on the Catholic church and is the main church of the land. The adventures are primarily urban and dungeon, with some things happening outside the gates. Starting on 9/22/2021 this campaign will run until 2022 or longer!

How to prepare

Character can be provided or we can make them in the first session. We use Roll20 for gameplay, and Discord for voice and video. All the rules, premade props and maps. Extensive token library. A lot of fun!

Gameplay details

This campaign has adult content and features. not recommended for children under 14. Wed will be using X, N, and O cards to express concern with any content, stop the content, or continue after discussion, whatever the player needs to feel comfortable. In addition each player will receive a copy of a form-fillable PDF for Monte Cooks Gaming Consent form, to be submitted prior to the game starting.

How will character creation work

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
