About the adventure
Welcome, welcome! Whether you seek to be defenders of the realm, or throw your lot in with the local thieves' guild, there's no better place to start than the city of Rogelhan! Mercenaries, monsters, mages, and more abound here in this frontier city, and there are opportunities aplenty to earn a reputation as heroes, cutpurses, or whatever else you aspire to be. This game is an open-ended one-shot adventure, intended for new players to learn how to create characters and embark on heroic adventures. There are several possible storylines to pursue, depending on what the party is most interested in, and this session will serve to introduce new players to combat, social interaction & role-playing, and everything else that role-playing games have to offer.

Additional Details
How to prepare
Microphones are great, but not required. Please make sure that you have Discord downloaded and that you have an account with Roll20 (you don't need to pay for this account, you can use a free account). General familiarity with the D&D rules will help, but isn't required, as I will be happy to explain the mechanics to players during the session.
What I provide
I will provide maps and tokens for Roll20, as well as characters for anyone who needs them.
Gameplay details
Let's work together to figure out what the session will include! We can focus on character creation, or if you want to learn more about combat in D&D 5e, that can be the primary focus. If you're trying to become more familiar and comfortable with role-playing, I'll include social encounters. If you just want to see what this whole "D&D" thing is all about, I can incorporate various elements that are common in a great D&D adventure.

How will character creation work
Pre-generated 1st level characters will be provided, but we can create custom characters during the session if players want to learn that process. Characters brought to the session will be considered, but must be built using the standard ability score array. Races and classes must be from a published Wizards of the Coast book; no homebrew content.
