    About the adventure

Welcome to the world of Pokemon! A land of infinite possibilities and unimaginable adventures. Though, a grand expedition of destiny and that which breaks it, awaits you. Welcome to the Arkala Region, where a strong gust of wind drives trainers ever forward towards adventure. Once a land ruled by a tyrannical emperor hundreds of years ago, the people and Pokemon of Arkala broke their chains by destroying the bridge that linked them to the Nixian Empire. They have since prospered, humans have advanced and Pokemon have flourished, leading to plenty of new arrivals to the Arkala Region. Pokemon Amethyst is a full campaign complete with the Pokemon League Challenge, various contests and competitions from town to town, battling the feuding Team Royal and Team Crusade, and of course, catching all kinds of Pokemon along the way. This game is played using the Pokerole system, Feel free to read up on it, but I can also teach the system if you are new to it!

    Additional Details

    How to prepare

You'll need a microphone, a roll20 account, and a discord account. Roll20 will have a digital character sheet to keep track of you and your Pokemon. I would also ask you send me a list of your top 5 favorite Pokemon. I advise you to only include 1 Legendary among that list, since while it will be possible to capture Legendaries, it is unlikely you will ever fill your team with them.

    What I provide

Personalized storylines and challenging encounters. Also some laughs.

    Gameplay details

Gameplay involves creating trainers then forming bonds with the Pokemon and fellow trainers you meet along your journey. The bonds you forge with your Pokemon will greatly affect how they listen to you. While all Pokemon are NPCs, you have control over their development and what they learn. While the Pokemon League challenge is the most popular challenge to take on, players can have their characters be researchers, breeders, or focus on other contests. In combat, you'll be issuing tactical commands to your Pokemon to come out on top. This includes strategies beyond just calling attacks, as you can have your Pokemon focus on evading moves or even using their own attacks to strategically cancel out incoming attacks.

      How will character creation work

I will be getting in contact with you before the game so we can go over character creation together. Discord conversations will be the easiest, but if we can't get a meeting together, I can help via Discord conversations. Starting out, you will have the options of ordering a custom unevolved Pokemon or taking a Pokemon that Professor Alder provides. The custom Pokemon will start with a lower loyalty than the Professor's Pokemon, but it gives you more options to start with.

      Players can expect

      • Combat/Tactics: High
      • Roleplay: High
      • Puzzles: Low
      • Experience Level: None
