About the adventure

At the mouth of the Neverwinter River, along the mighty Sword Coast lies the city of Neverwinter. A nearby volcano destroyed much of this great city several decades back, but the hardy residents have rebuilt it into a bustling port city. As you are exploring the city, a sturdy Dwarf approaches you, introduces himself as Gundren Rockseeker, and says he is in search of help for a variety of problems he is facing. He invites you and a few of his other acquaintances to meet with him at The Five Quills, a quiet little tavern, to discuss the job options and details. He will present you all with 3 options, of which you will select one (each job will be a short, 1st level adventure that will last 1-1.5 hrs) Beginners and/or long time players welcome! Please create a Lvl 1 character on DndBeyond (link should show when you book) Please use the Standard Array for stats. I would love to help a new player learn the ropes, and if you need help creating a character beforehand, and go over game basics I would definitely do that. This game will be a typical High Fantasy setting, full of magic and fighting! It will not feature any technology or magitech (sorry artificers) I have a strict no swearing policy (you have been warned...I will offer 1 reminder, and if it continues, I'll kick you out), and please keep it PG-13 - no NSFW. I will strive each session to have opportunities for Role Play as well as Combat. This is a super fun game, and I hope we can all enjoy our adventure together, and tell an awesome story! I have plans to run a full campaign during this same timeslot starting in a few weeks. This one-shot is kind of like a trial session to see if you like my DM style, and if I like your play style. If it is a good fit, I would love it if you joined the campaign! The campaign will be the Starter Set: Lost Mines of Phandelver, which I have played through as a player, and DM'd in person. It is a fantastic adventure for beginners and veterans alike. I would be running it on Tuesdays and Thursdays at this same time, and will last roughly 1.5 hrs each session. Playing this one-shot does not guarantee you a spot in the Starter Set Campaign, nor does it obligate you to join. The campaign will be a one time fee of $25 (paid during the first session) and will last between 10 and 20 sessions, depending on how quickly the party moves :)

How to prepare

Come prepared with a dndbeyond account, as well as a roll20 account (both are free). Also put some thought into your character's backstory. It doesn't need to be much, but a few ideas can really help you roleplay your character.

What I provide

I will bring maps, and an awesome adventure! I also have shared content on DndBeyond: PHB, XGE, TCE and SCAG

How will character creation work
