How to prepare

To ensure a smooth game experience, we ask that all players have a functioning microphone and access to a quiet location for the duration of the game (at least 3 hours). A reliable internet connection is also required to ensure a stable connection during the game. Discord will be used for voice chat, so an account there will be necessary. Please note that a webcam is not necessary for this game as we will not be using one. There is no need to install any additional software as we will be using Foundry VTT for the game. However, it's always a good idea to test your microphone and internet connection prior to the game to ensure that everything is working properly. While it is not required, players are encouraged to read the rules ahead of time to become familiar with the game mechanics. However, don't worry if you're new to Pathfinder 2e, as we will be using the well-designed beginner box and explanations will be given for any rules that come up during the game.

Gameplay details

Before the game officially begins, we will hold session 0 where we will discuss various details about the game, expectations, character creation, and any concerns or questions players may have. During this session, we will open up communication and create a safe space for players to express their thoughts and ideas. We will discuss the tone of the game, the level of seriousness, and the level of player agency. We will also discuss the type of characters that would work well in the campaign, the types of races and classes available, and the various abilities and skills that could benefit the party. This will help players create characters that fit well into the campaign and ensure everyone has a chance to shine. After every session, we will take some time to discuss what happened, what went well, and what could be improved in the future. This feedback will help us fine-tune the game and ensure that everyone is having fun. These discussions will be the only time we will be properly OOC because we want to respect everyone's time and avoid taking up too much time at the start of the session. It is important to note that this game may contain mature themes and content warnings. We strive for realism in our game, and that means that unfortunate things may happen to unlucky people. We will not intentionally create or seek out such content, but we will be honest and realistic about the world we are playing in. In summary, we will take the time to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy the game. We will be open and transparent in our communication, encourage feedback, and work together to create an engaging and enjoyable campaign.

How will character creation work

Welcome to our Pathfinder 2e game! As we begin, please note that we will be starting as level 1 characters using the standard character creation rules found in the core rulebook. This means that you will have a wide range of options available to you when creating your characters, including your race, class, skills, and abilities. Any uncommon or rare-tagged things need GM approval to be picked (but it's probably fine). In order to ensure a smooth game experience, all character sheets will be on Foundry VTT ONLY. Please refrain from using external character sheets for this campaign. This will help us to easily access and update character information during the game, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. We will not be using any optional rules, including the free archetype rule. We want to keep things simple and focus on the core rules of the game. However, feel free to use any external tools or resources that you find helpful for character creation and tracking. We hope that you are excited to create your characters and dive into this adventure. If you have any questions or concerns about character creation, please don't hesitate to ask. We look forward to seeing what kind of characters you come up with!
