About the adventure

Session 0 and Session 1 offered free of charge. For full disclosure's sake, I'm new as a DM, so we'll undoubtedly be learning some of the game together. Set in the world of Golarion, this is Pathfinder's first 2nd Edition Adventure Path - and a heavy one, at that. This classic adventure will have you seeing the world, starting from humble beginnings in a small riverside town and globetrotting your way from 1 to 20. Age of ashes is known to be a bit rough on its balance, I'm taking measures to ensure a good, cohesive game will be run from start to finish. As far as content goes, as the plan is to run this adventure reasonably faithfully, it IS intended for a party of non-evil, conventionally good/neutral adventurers.

How to prepare

You will need a microphone of reasonable quality, as well as a web browser compatible with Foundry, and Discord for voice chat. Beyond that, if you're already familiar with Foundry and you have any particular modules that you'd like run for your convenience, please ask and I'll do my best to accomodate!

What I provide

I will bring the advertised adventure path, meticulously self-ported into Foundry for our use. This includes both official art, self-made DungeonDraft maps where needed, as well as AI generated character portraits where art is missing. I will bring tokens for most/all NPCs, including unimportant ones, and will provide effort to make the world react to the stories you create. I will also provide a Discord server for our use. Finally, on request, I can help generate character portraits and tokens using AI software.

Gameplay details

1) Gameplay will try to focus on following the rules of the game faithfully, with some small changes to some mechanics. Notably to Recalling Knowledge. Availability of uncommon/rate items is negotiable on a case by case basis. Rogues/Wizards will have access to all simple/martial weapons. 2) We will be using the Free Archetype variant. 3) While I encourage beginners to join with the intention of helping them learn the game from square one, in the spirit of making the game enjoyable for everyone, I ask that you come with a mind to really learn the basic rules as well as how the basics of your character works. Sometimes we're forgetful, make small mistakes, or need a quick refresher, and that's fine - I just ask that you make it a matter of common courtesy to your fellow players to really try and learn. 4) Session 0 will include some brief, spoiler free notes about the campaign, as well as character creation, and reaffirmation of content expectations. If we have beginners, we may even go over some of the basics or places of concerns. Please, if you have questions about the system, don't hesitate to ask me! 5) A disclaimer: I do use AI art to help flesh out the world. This comes in for form of tokens and portraits for background NPCs. I use it with understanding of the ongoing debate surrounding it, and with sympathy. It, however, simply has too much use at my scale in providing a more realized world for my players to pass it up. 6) Small bio breaks encouraged. 7) Open door via direct message to discuss any issues. 8) Debriefing on individual, private basis - an extension of the open door policy, effectively.
