About the adventure

The dim sparkwork lamplights shine over the perpetually dark cobblestone streets of Doskvol, but for you, the darkness is comforting. As you duck into an alley and hide, you fumble to find light to read the letter some kid just handed you. ~~~ Blades, You have a new job. There's an artifact I want, and Lord Percival Harrington has it. Your job: find out where it is, steal it, and gain leverage on him in the process. You'll need to dive into the city's seedy underbelly, work your connections, and uncover the location. Then plan a damn good heist. Percival is cunning and will likely have hired a gang to help, so don't screw it up. Remember, I don't like this prick. Find something I can use against him, something that'll make him weak. I want to crush him. If you can't find anything then at least send him a message from me. Your reward awaits your return, Lady Evelina Thornfield ~~~ You fold the letter and tuck it away as you look around the corner back into the street. The mark you were tailing is gone, but it’s no matter, Lady Thornfield has a job to do, and she is not one to be kept waiting. ---------------------------------- Looking for the perfect introduction to Blades in the Dark? Than this introductory one-shot is for you! Everything you need will be provided, including some characters you can choose from. We’ll cover all major parts of the game, giving you a really good idea of how Blades in the Dark works. After this score, you’ll feel confident running in any crew you find or perhaps running the game yourself.

How to prepare

The only thing you will need to bring is a webcam and a mic. You don't HAVE to be on webcam, but I promise you will enjoy it more if you are! Regardless, I will be ready to be on camera. We will use Roll20's voice and video functions. I will send out a link to Roll20 after you sign up. You will not need to read the rules ahead of time. If you do, that's cool too. You will not need to make any characters, I'll provide those so we can get straight into gameplay. You will not need to install any software. You'll just want to make sure you have a free Roll20 account first. You will not need your own dice, we'll use Roll20 to roll everything. You will not need to print out your character sheet.

What I provide

I will bring all the dice and I'll have all the characters ready for you. I will have all the images we'll need to play and I have handouts for the rules that we'll reference when they become relevant.
