Obsidian Shards: The Old Temple (OS3)

About the adventure

(HAIL, AND WELL MET, BRAVE ADVENTURER! All of my Obsidian Shards games are one-shot drop-in basis, so feel free to create a level-appropriate character and join in the fun!) A D&D 5E adventure for Obsidian Shards characters of levels 2-4. The massive City of Kalumnoir is filled with danger, intrigue, and adventure for all who dare explore within her gates. Organized into districts or "rings," the city rises layer by layer from the ground up. The Seventh Ring is the bottom-most layer of the city, and is home to the city's defense forces and cemeteries, as well as lodging for visitors to the city. It is also the location of the most ancient religious building in Kalumnoir: The Old Temple. Recently, Lady Imiriel has tasked the adventurers with a daunting mission: clear out malignant spirits and other ne'er-do-wells from the Old Temple grounds, long abandoned due to frequent haunting. Somewhere within the Old Temple, according to Lady Imiriel, an obsidian shard has risen, allowing even more nefarious beings to pass into the city of Kalumnoir. Will your party be up to the task, or will their souls be added to the countless number of the Old Temple's victims?

How to prepare

Prior to play, you'll want to have both Fantasy Grounds Unity (the free DEMO version is fine) and Discord installed on your devices. If you've not used these services before, don't worry! Newbies are more than welcome, and I try to make myself available to anyone ahead of time who needs technical assistance.

Gameplay details

This session will be slightly more combat- and exploration-focussed, though there will certainly be light roleplaying opportunities.

How will character creation work

This adventure is designed for Obsidian Shard characters of Levels 1-4. If you don't already have a character from a previous Obsidian Shards session, no worries! Simply create a 1st Level character of your own design and bring her with you.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
