Nysos Discovered (A D&D 5e Campaign)

About the adventure

An ancient land, Nysos, has been discovered and you are one of the first to set foot upon it. What called you to this place? Was it greed, with the untold riches that must lay within its shores? Was it duty, by some order or decree? Or was it just blind curiosity that you would throw your life into darkness? Whatever your reason, just know that lost things enjoy staying lost. And life in balance, once meddled and tipped in any direction must surely collapse. This is a campaign founded on the ideas of mystery, exploration and meaningful choices. This is a sandbox homebrew campaign where you and your group can venture in any direction. Where there is rarely one correct way to go about any conflict. Just know that the actions of the party will have significant ramifications. There is all the possibility of finding yourselves "over your head" in an encounter where a character death is imminent. So plan wisely, or plan a new character to roll. They both can be just as fun! In addition to this Campaign, there will be One-Shots that I will host for other newly arrived adventurers. They will be able to explore, discover and have a real impact on the group during their campaign. They might even be working against the group. (Insert evil maniacal laugh) There is a group Discord page that will double as The Tavern. All adventurers are welcome to share their experiences, upload images or maps, and plan for future expeditions. I can't wait to explore all that Nysos has to offer together!

How to prepare

We will be utilizing Discord, for voice, and Fantasy Grounds Unity as the Virtual Table Top. These both would need to be downloaded with an account set up. I am more than willing to set up a time before our session to get you a little familiar with Fantasy Grounds so we can jump right in. What I provide

I will be providing the full access to Fantasy Grounds with all DnD resource material. This will also include battle maps and other visual resources needed for encounters.

Gameplay details

This campaign is heavy on planning and exploring. As a DM, I do my best to stay out of the way of decision making and allow the group to come to some agreement. This can at times make for slower sessions, but I believe it also means more meaningful choices. There is nothing to stop the players from just rampaging across the land, but more rewards can be found by clever choices. I believe in common sense where everyone can feel welcome and have a great time. If you are not sure if a topic or conversation is appropriate, then it probably isn't. Hopefully over time as players get to know each other better, than this shouldn't be a problem. Again, common sense!

How will character creation work

Characters will be starting out at level 5. Of course as the campaign continues, and there is a character death, than this will be adjusted to fit the needs of the group. This would also be case for any new players coming into the campaign midway through. I find it best to have a Session 0 to help with the character creation. Even if you already know exactly the character you want, helping you to create in Fantasy Grounds will save a lot of headaches.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
