NIGHTMARE IN YNGMARK: A Fading Suns Adventure

About the adventure

Yngmark: cold, distant, barren, is a world far from the warmth of empire, a world beset by a supernatural threat. Lord Hector, a former questing Knight, has found bloody corpses in his realm, savaged by a spindly monster the peasants have only seen as shadows by moonlight. Unable to muster forces by treaty, unable to afford a professional coterie of soldiers, Hector must rely on the kindness of old friends and strangers. Friend you may or may not be, you and your troupe are certainly strange, and well versed in such acts of 'kindness' as a bloodthirsty monster might need. Fading Suns is a roleplaying game that takes players to a far future of questing knights, ancient empire, scheming technophiles, and an omnipresent ever watching Church. Drawing as much from Chaucer as from Frank Herbert, it imagines players as pilgrims, masters of their own fate and followers of a path. Whether that path comes from dedication to the Prophet, to fellow men, to ambition or to their pocket, they together form a Troupe, a band of heroes, to cut for themselves a path through the vastness of space and empire. On Yngmark, players will be solving a supernatural mystery and protecting a cold realm from a mysterious threat.

How to prepare

Players will need a discord account, as well as an account set up with Roll20 if that is how they will wish to play the game. If all players have a Roll20 account or are willing to make one, this is preferred.

What I provide

I will be bringing a set of maps for the game's scenes, PC and NPC tokens for the application we will be using to play, and editable pdf character sheets for the available pregens.

Gameplay details

This game contains aspects of possible body horror, violence, and depictions of mental illness. We will be using a preestablished rating (PG 13), and the X card and Open Door will be explained, used, and enforced. Expect intrigue, mystery, character work, and violent action.

How will character creation work

The players will be given a choice of eight pre-generated character sheets to choose from before the game. The stats, system, and narrative aspects will be discussed in the first hour of the game's scheduled time.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
