About the adventure

Mylthas is a land of magic with nine main nations on the same number of continents. Each nation has their own culture based on their location and population which will be provided later. Most adventures begin with the characters being from the same town, but players have the option of selecting this town. Your characters can have come to this location from other locales, but have spent at least the past 5 years together. This allows for an early collaboration among party members asa they become adventurers and heroes in the world. I do insist that you play as heroes as opposed to murder hobos, though I will give you a chance to kill villainous NPCs and montsers.

How to prepare

Come up with a character concept that can be easily worked into a character. Feel free to draw inspiration from anywhere: a favorite image, a miniature, or a favorite story. If choosing a character from a story, try to personalize it. While much in D&D is drawn from plagarizing pop culture, you don't want to do injustice to a character you love if the story goes differently than that character's...which it will. I don't require a camera, but a mic does make it easier to play as chats can get buried or missed. You'll need your own dice or online dice roller. I also recommend having the three core rulebooks for D&D in addition to the three supplemental books...or at least reliable online versions of them. I draw out of these for races, classes, and updated rules. I spoke of beastfolk earlier, these are those found in the Humblewood Campaign Setting if you are able to get your hands on that.

What I provide

I will provide a synopsis of the world Mylthas which will include descriptions of the nations and cultures of the world. I have all the books above, and I can help you through them and some of the confusion of the mechanics and updates.

Gameplay details

Like the book the game is based on, there is mild prejudicial jeering between races, but cultures have moved beyond the need for laws to maintain it. All races and species are equal and none are suspected to do specific tasks. There are beastfolk species, but they are not beasts and shouldn't be played as such. As with any feudalist government, there is a bit of classism, but most governments ensure they are fair to the people who support them having learned from bloody revolutions in their pasts. Male, female, and non-binary are treated equally and given equal opportunity, though some families may try to hold on to the separation of the gender tasks.

How will character creation work

Character creation is fairly simple. First, you'll choose together which city or town you'd like to start in. This is where your character has spent the last five years honing their background. Ability scores will be determined using the point buy system. Race/species can be determined by the city you chose based on population but can also be from a different location if you've decided to travel from another continent/region/town. You are free to come up with a backstory, but please keep it to 1 page (it's easier to work it into the story that way).
